I have no idea what you are talking about. A MLP stock is frozen? Huh? Pays a Royalty check? Huh?
Bill M: I am long NOG and name calling is not a way to debate. Name calling just gives you no credibility. I again challenge you saying what is short term?
Also for your info, MLP means "master limited partnership" not as you state " managed limited partnership".
Contrary to your post, I think I clearly think I know what I am talking about.
By short term, do you mean the last two years as short term? The chart and the PPS don't lie.
Wayne: You said there is nothing wrong with this stock. Are you kidding? Look at the two year (or one year) chart. Compare NOG with other Bakken stocks on the charts as well. You were kidding right?
Take a look at ENOC (EnerNOC). The leader in smart grid technologies and software. Last year they took a beating but have recovered nicely. A growth industry. I have done well in it.
NOG adds more acreage every quarter, but they are giving up as much as they gain. They are giving up acreage in not the best parts of the Bakken ( Richland County Montana) and gaining in some better areas. Still NOG has been stuck around 180,000 acres for some time now.
This could be another reason that the share price remains where it is. Investors want growth and do not see NOG growing its acreage. For Reger to just sit back and say, "Well, this is our business model" is not good enough. He must be more aggressive. Being passive in business, gets you no where. Just like the stock price is going no where.
Here is another item we can bring up in our calls and emails to NOG.
Ask why Reger and the rest of the management team has not bought any stock. Insider buying is a great way to let the market know that management believes in their company. We see in every investor presentation that NOG puts on, just how under valued the company is. OK, Reger, put your money where your mouth is and start buying your company.
Rich: Glad to hear you had a good six weeks in RI. I have been stuck on the west coast for my entire life. I plan to go an east coast adventure when I retire in five years. Should be a long educational trip. History is just fascinating.
I took my USEG and bought AXAS. Are you still trading it? They really have turned that company around. Good well results in the Bakken. I wish WRES had a big acreage in the Monterey Shale here in California. I read that there is 15 billion barrels of oil to be had. Could be like the Niobrara in that it is tougher to frac the shale. Though progress in cracking the code is being made. OXY holds 1.5 million acreages in the Monterey Shale. The people in California, of no surprise, are against fracking. Ignorance of the facts is typical of us on the left coast. But typical of all politicians , they see $ in revenue , so most are for the fracking. It should be a fun battle to watch.
A few years ago, I almost bought some Devon, but they were not in the Bakken or the Eagleford, so I passed. They are a good company but not being in the Bakken and the Eagleford hurts them. I have MRO as my main investment in the sector since the split. Also CHK. Wish I had invested in EOG instead.
I sold my USEG for a nice profit. Sold half of my EOX at $7.95 and reinvested at $7.15. Timing is everything. Could have done better. Trying to be a better trader.
Rich: There is a good article on multi well drilling by Keith Kohl at Energy and Capital. He refers to it as Octopus drilling. CLR is a leader in this.
These institutions have no idea what they 're doing. They obviously do not have the knowledge that I have about this company. They are fools as I am the smart one.
DUMBER THAN THE IDIOT GUY
All of the complaints about this company and it's management posted on this board are legitimate. I would hope that all of us email the management at NOG and voice these same complaints. Management needs to get it from the shareholders.
And how are your winner stocks doing Deep? You know that one penny scam SKTO and your Lone Pine Resources (LPR), both of which you own. For you to comment on any stock while you own those losers is silly at best. Deep, you are a legend in your own mind.
The Michael Filloon blog was interesting reading. His knowledge of the Bakken and well designs is unmatched by other writers. In the comment section, he replies that he will take a position in EOX in the first half of 2014.
No other motive as I am long, but I can still be critical when needed. Who cares how much they own, the constant monthly selling can and will be a red flag for some investors.
The buyback was to counter the dilution due to stock base compensation. Not such a nice buyback. The management team , lead by CEO, sells way to much stock.
I find it best to just ignore "The Person". One will never win a exchange with "The Person" because "The Person" is not credible at all. All "The Person does is go by feelings and their opinion. "The Person" does not use facts in their posts, just babble. The Texas Tea Party guy got it right by telling "The Person" that they were "an idiot".
If one ignores "The Person" by not responding to the idiotic posts, "The Person" does not post that much. This board is much better when we all just ignore "The Person".
MRO has a very large acreage in Kenya that is looking very promising. Initial well results are very good. With a JV with Tullow Oil and then with African Oil, this could be a good deal. Correct me if I am wrong, but MRO got into this large JV for $40 million.
