Not sure how the vote will weigh on the mkts, you do know that there are 2 choices, and neither are to stay with the Ukraine? One is to separate from the Ukraine, the othger is to go with Russia.
So the outcome is known. What seems to be unknown is what Ukraine will do, and what the world will do.
Here's the answer: stomp their collective feet, say nasty stuff, and do nothing. Our Sec of State, Mr Ketchup, already said as much.
Both those are down bcse of lawsuits. I was never in the biotech industry, but I spent 40 yrs in hi tech, and watched many, many lawsuits play out.
Never once did a lawsuit damage the company that was sued, regardless of their guilt. I know a SW company that stole a lot of SW code from a competitor, code that was essential, and would have cost $1M to develop. They were sued, and after 5 yrs or more, there was a miniscule settlement.
The company I worked for stole code from a competitor, we were sued early in our existence, and it got settled about a month before we were acquired by another company, for a pittance.
So, my conclusion, big hit today, no big deal within a month or less.
For another rare occurrence, BBH was under the 50 da SMA this AM, now just above it. In the last 2 yrs, BBH has spent about 10 days total under the 50 da SMA.
I know, this time it's different....
BTW, one of my most favorite conservative black people is that big guy on Fox, Charles...I forget the last name...he's funny, he's smart, and he's on the right side of both issues and investments. I watch him more than most of the people they have on.
The working theory is that C Rice is the worst kind of conservative, a successful, educated, BLACK conservative. The strength of the Dems rides on a couple of pillars, one being the unions, and one being the blacks.
To keep the black people of this country believing that the Dem/lib way is the only way, the libs need to stifle up C Rice and all conservative successful black people.
Who really cares about the First Amendment? Certainly not the libs.
I have moved some $ from pure biotech into the adjacent areas. I have posted about NSTG, CPHD, MDSO, and MDXG, all of which I own. ILMN is the "big daddy".
Here's a great one, popping today: HART, they are in the organ regeneration business! First up seems to be tracheas, which seems a lot easier than a new brain. I really don't care what they make, I care about the 10-20% pop today, and if there's more to come.
Helping people in trouble makes you human, not a iib. Good job, keep helping people, aan keep trying to avoid being a lib.
My latest disgust with the libs comes from the idiots at Rutgers. I am a Rutgers grad, and I stopped giving them $ years ago bcse of the many scandals there, and it just gets worse and worse.
if they can exclude C Rice, why can't we exclude the BO Libs who are teaching at the Chicago universities? Doesn't Bill Ayers, a avowed commie and a convicted terrorist, get paid for spreading his filth by the US taxpayer?
Right now, I'm suffering with NUS and HLF. Ackaman has lost at every effort to discredit HLF, but now he has gotten the govt to jump on his bandwagon. NUS was up 8, now it's down.
Haven't done any buying today, except to add a little to my QTWW position.
I agree, but it's more than weather. It is also the unrest in Europe, something like 30% of the F500 export sales are to europe.
Plus, on the weather, a lot of exports go thru the Great Lakes, and that has dropped to zero, so the economy in those port areas has also been hurt.
I had a sell in if YY broke 80, it did, and now it has broken it going the other way. Rats!!
Did the quick flip this AM on PLUG, then almost bot it back when it opened at 5.70, but didn't. Rats!!
Having sold at 6.50 ave price, I bot yesterday in AH at 5.70, just a few shrs, and sold already today at 6.30.
The me, it's a perfect trade, buying in AH, and selling in pre mkt, you have no market risk. Plus, I made 10%!!
I posted this a couple weeks ago, bot a nice entry position at 49.50.
They sell to the biotechs, but the SP has held up amazingly well thru this downturn, and right now is at about a new hi, just over 55.
I don't have any stable biotech stocks, they are all moving one way or another, so stability seems like a good thing right now.
And, on second thinking, why was it up a buck or more at the open, then sold off? Any financing news from China was already out at that time...still not sure what is going on.
