I have a little BWEN. In case you have this, or any wind energy stock, there was an article in a paper i read over the weekend, maybe IBD, that took a hard hit at the subsidies that wind energy gets relative to other energy producers. In fact, they said it paid off for wind farm operators to sell their energy to the local utilities for free, the subsidies are so hi.
And, it hi lighted a battle in congress to end or reduce those subsidies.
Anyway, I may sell the last of my BWEN pretty soon, these stories can jump up and bite you!
thanks for reminding me, that's where I have a lot of my $$. But, in bio:
NWBO up a buck, and I sold.
TKMR which I posted on Fri, up another 1.25
LJPC up 50 cents
BIIB up 5, but was off 15 on Friday.
ALXN up too, which I think is dragging RARE up 3 bucks.
There are pockets of strength within biotech.
I said, just yesterday, that I just hold REGN.
But I never saw a drop like the one just now, with no news, but I assume someone knows something, so I sold....all the shrs were LT holds, so I can always buy back.
I bot already, yesterday, so I'm in the red, but I bot for a simple reason, there can't be hostilities, Putin has an enormous ego, and they nominated him for the Nobel peace prize.
My bet is he lets things cool off...
FYI, I had sold yesterday, wanted to post, but had YHOO issues.
Then I bot back today around 27, almost sold at 29.50, but didn't.
Sold all my PLUG yesterday, after more than a double, I still sold too soon!!!
The issue for you, if I know you well enough, is whether you want a fast hit, that could carry some risk, or a LT play bought at a good price.
If the latter, go for BBH. If the former, there are so many choices, like ISIS for a LT sure thing with some volatility, or TRVN, a recent IPO, or about 20 in between.
PRAN still has legs, but these small caps are driven by news, and if they have just 1 or 2 drugs in approval, new news can be months away.
I never sell my "big 4", CELG/REGN/GILD/BIIB. If my 2.5 yrs of being in these stocks has taught me anything, it's to hold for the LT.
