Funny how just a couple of weeks ago we were riding high on the horse. Looks to me that the market is in for yet another change. We have a slowing China, currency devaluation ,falling oil, rising Gold, and Trump running for President. I've seen this before and corrections are coming. Let's just hope that the flight to safety isn't what's left of the bond market and the true value of the health sector.
Glad to help. I'm just a high end marble/mosaic/natural stone installer so as the sole provider for a family of four you can only imagine how tough it can be to contribute yearly.
We always seem to find a way to manage this and it's paid off handsomely. All the kids are done with college and a retirement actually seems to be a reality.
You mentioned that VGHCX is pricey at the current level and I will admit that I thought the same thing when I started investing 30 years ago here at $25. Heck, I was wondering how I was gonna afford a 120k house then also. Everything is relative to time and in another 30 years this could be $900 a share but that house I mentioned will probably require half a million to buy. LOL GLTY
You can't go wrong with this fund. Ask yourself a couple of questions.
Is Healthcare coming down in price?
Are new advancements in the pharmaceutical arena allowing longer lifespans?
This fund achieves for longevity compared to others that have short hot streaks. The management is second to none and although any fund can become a victim to the general market sentiment I've found that this sector is immune to the wild swings and volitility that follows the majority of the other sectors.
This is an investment for steady growth that capitalizes on advancement which really has no end in sight.
My first max investment was at $25 per share and I still to this day try to max out my alowed yearly amount.
Trade deals take time and so does a congressional approval if it happens at all.
Till then we are tied to the markets sentiment. Should the markets see a downward spiral as in China, you'll see a flight to safety and this is safety central.
