When carter was president almost everything was made in America and most americans had good jobs with good benefits. Now everything is made somewhere else, outsourcing is the norm and companies would rather scream for more HB1 visas than hire and train American workers. Sure inflation is down, though prices are much higher today(gas was around $1 a gallon, houses were around $70,000, and you could get a good car for around $6,000, food was a lot cheaper) but we paid a heavy price for that.
Have you watched fox news or listened to rush on the radio. They spend all their time dumping on the president. Maybe if they didn't the country would not be so divided. And by the way, if anyone got a free ride, it was bush. Maybe you forget that baloney about you are either with us or against us. It worked for a while but when people saw what was really going on, the free ride was over. Bush and Cheney were a disaster and history will prove it.
I think she had too many plastic surgeries. She was funny in the sixties, not now. Its time to retire.
Starting to see a lot of for lease signs in retail and office space. May have something to do with internet shopping but also starting to see a lot of for sale signs in residential real estate. That may be due to a lot of baby boomers packing up, selling their homes and heading somewhere for retirement. Many are moving south.
I think ford is stronger and imports are weaker than the last time when gas jumped during the bush years. I don't think ford will be hurt like the last time and with a better mix of better profitable gas saving cars I think they will do fine, even at $5 a gallon.
Because like in the state of Kentucky they love it. But mitch McConnell won't admit to it. As a matter of fact, when asked about it, he handed the mic to rand paul. I guess his group of lobbyists didn't write him a prepared statement.
Meanwhile republican hopefuls are talking about Christian values at a ralph reed conference. Yes, remember ralph reed, jack Abramoff, lobbyist scandal.
The economy is getting stronger. Companies are now having a hard time finding younger workers to work like dogs for peanuts. I am not joking. Supervisors are a dime a dozen but finding people to actually do the work for low wages is now getting to be a real problem. Workers are quitting jobs that won't pay and finding better opportunities. I guess there really is some basis for this raising minimum wage thing. A solid improving economy may now have to force companies to raise wages.
I don't get it. Oil goes up because of the fear factor yet oil company profits and stock prices also go up when the price of oil goes up due to conflicts. So why no fear factor when it comes to profits and stock prices, only prices at the pump.
By the way, the gop doesn't want to spend a dime on anything, they block any legislation for anything that may cost anything. yet all you hear is bomb bomb bomb when it comes to Iraq. For Iraq they have unlimited funds. Why? Its not like they love war, after all, how many of them actually served in any war.
Where did you get that American allies are rethinking nonsense. Let me guess. You know it sure is amazing how 1,700 to now estimated 12,000 insurgents driving pick ups could be defeating the Iraqi army of 900,000 with some of the best military equipment in the world all supplied by the US. Amazing, almost too amazing.
Nobody did more damage to the US than cheney and his gang of war mongering chicken hawks. It is already being established that the invasion of Iraq led by cheney is being considered one of the biggest mistakes in American history.
Judging from what I see, heard and read, I think if Hillary runs she will get a huge percentage of the women vote. I think she may even get a huge percentage of the republican women vote. I still don't think she will run but if she does it may turn out to be the biggest landslide in American history. I thought jeb bush was an easy win but I think this latest defeat with wall street cantor and people really disgusted with Iraq and now the almost universal american sentiment that we should have never went there in the first place is giving me second thoughts. I am beginning to believe the republicans are finished, maybe forever.
I am sure if the federal government didn't get into the act, we would all be paying a fortune for home insurance.
Republicans denying climate change and its effects was the dumbest thing these nitwits could of done. This will never win because then you are setting a precedent that stupid politicians must be accountable for their actions. Can you imagine the mountain of lawsuits this would start.
Where did they get the money for all the new pick up trucks. Maybe someone should check the titles and find out who really is behind this.
