    Apple Cars

Read the article. Foxconn makes apple iphones and ipads, so its the same that some Chinese company will make the car, designed by apple and sell it in the US under the apple nameplate. All it needs is some technology hook to it. After all, all fords sold in china are really made by a Chinese partner, right. So the manufacturing is there, ready to go, all it needs is a fancy nameplate, and you can't get any fancier than apple. And if apple buys tesla I will bet that will be made in china too. Just watch.

Will Apple put their name on cars designed by apple and made in china. All their products now are made in china. Will America's most admired company, with the largest market value, do to the auto industry what they did to the electronics business. Get ready ford, could be interesting. After all you guys started this upcoming disaster by selling Volvo to geely which announced they soon will be exporting a Volvo model made in china to the US market. Interesting story on the net today. Do a search and read. We may be looking at a change in the auto industry.

No doubt the rich have done better, and the middle class has done worse, but that has nothing to do with Obama, and until we address the real cause, outsourcing, we will continue in this direction. Obama tried to do something about outsourcing, he won some small battles but lost the war. Nothing is going to change. You will soon get a glimpse of what every other industry has been facing in the auto industry. Volvo, which is now owned by Chinese Geely has just announced they will be exporting a model made in China to the states, The floodgates are now open, soon a flood of cheap Chinese imports will flood the market. Watch gm.

Can we use that same bridge to screw up traffic for political purposes?

  • flyininmytaxi flyininmytaxi Jan 31, 2015 4:23 PM Flag

Yes I am sure all those with 401k plans that saw their plans double and triple feel that way. That idiot duo would have had us go the other way and probably would have seen dow 3000. Though we might get there when jeb becomes president. I wonder who he will pick. My guess is someone as dumb as palin, like marco Rubio.

You are the one without common sense. Turn off the fox news, its frying your brain. There will never be $9 gas. I read somewhere that driverless cars will be here in five years.

China Volvo about to import S60L cars into USA

This is huge news. They are planning to export a Volvo model to the US from china. When the deal was first cut, that wasn't in the cards. They also said now that they would build a plant in the US. I guess that's part of this new deal. Maybe they will hire a few people to clean the robots. Either way, the wage rate in china is peanuts compared to the US. If this works and is allowed, I am sure you will see more Chinese cars in the US. Good for consumers bad for auto workers. Its also good for gm, since they already produce in china with a Chinese partnership, so exporting those models to the US will cut costs and increase profits. just like apple. Apple sells a quality product with a good name all made in china at low wage rates. Look at their success. This is huge news, good news for auto makers, really bad news for auto workers. It maybe the beginning of the end of an era. Look at the electronics industry for guidance.

This is huge news. Not only are they planning to make cars in china and export them to the US, but they are planning to build a plant in the US. I guess that was part of the deal. The wage rate in china is peanuts compared to the rest of the world. This will put Volvo on the map. A car with a quality image made for peanuts in china. Sounds like the apple strategy to me, and look how well apple did. Look for another car company to be bought out if this works. Maybe they will bring back the saab. Thanks ford, you may have sent the car business to china. Look at what they did to the electronics/small appliance industry. Even the Japanese stuff is made in china.
