30% short. If LF surprises on earnings I would hate to be short. So if I were short, I would be taking some profits before earnings. Which could cause the stock to advance going into earnings.
Also going to keep an eye out over the next few days for the SEC filing in case it was an insider.
Hopefully it's someone closing a short position and an institution talking a long.
There wasn't any in the past three months, the one I am referring to is by Randall, a director, on 9/3/13 for 35k shares at $9.10.
It might not be relevant but this is the one I am referring too.
With earnings out in less then 2 weeks and with the insider purchase in the $9 range this quarter earnings could easily beat estimates, especially with the low guidance given.
If I were short, I wouldn't want to be in my position if earnings beat thus I would close my position heading into earnings. Other than Amazon getting into the tablet space, the shorts really are speculating until the 4th quarter numbers are released.
Although, the past quarter earnings missed they still beat the estimates. Remember the 2013 3rd and 4th quarters had extraordinary gains, so earning for this qtr won't meet last years however the forward guidance should be positive. That's if Amazon hasn't taken market share away.
So I added some long shares and if earnings and guidance are good, I'll add more. Especially into an after hours & pre-open drop.
For awhile I thought Disney would be one company to greatly benefit owning Leap Frog. They would be able to bring their content to Leap Frog's platform and to children. Disney would receive added exposure and can sell the tablets directly at their parks if they don't already do so.
Just wondering if Craig Relyea from Dinsey and now at Leap Frog may see the synergy.
Management claims they will resolve shareholder issues in this quarter. Have they ever said this before? I will wait till the next quarterly report.
Closed long position due to unusual price activity along with managements poor decisions. With the numerous shareholder complaints about hoarding cash. And with the monies Zuoan claimed to have on hand the company should have been buying back shares. I was willing to wait but have to protect my capital due to uncertainty about upper management.
Buffett bought SU in the latest filing so I would rather put my money with Buffett then any other analyst. Buffett buys value so I am happy to hold.
No one knows for sure what will happen. Will the competition take enough market share away from LF? No one knows the outcome. Google is still around with Bing..McDonalds is still around with Burger King and all others. Venture out of Business.
One can only make a best educated guess. My opinion is that you made a good decision. It is difficult to knock of the leader, content is unappreciated and an insider mad a large purchase. If shorts give you #$%$, it reflects more of their inexperience investing and trading more then anything else. For anyone who has been investing full time is humble.

Which tab is that the tab 2 or 3? This is the same Tab that was out since 2011. Why now are you believing they will outperform LF when they couldn't do it in 2011, or 2012?
