Kisner seems to be a thorn in Finisars side even though he is wrong most of the time on his price targets and views of the company.
I think he may not like Jerry very much.
Here is good news trout! Jerry is interested in buying Jdsu's spin off.
From gray at oclr board...OFC 2015 Reporter's Notebook: Day 1
By Stephen Hardy
I hate it when I'm wrong! For months I've been telling anyone who's asked that I thought Finisar would have little or no interest in buying JDSU's CCOP business when it spins out as Lumentum later this year. (Too much product overlap, I thought, and so I saw such a purchase as a market share buy, which I didn't think the company was interested in pursuing.) So my OFC 2015 got off to a very annoying start this morning when I filmed a video interview with Finisar Executive Chairman Jerry Rawls. I asked Jerry if, were Lumentum on the market, he'd be interested. "Yes," he said without hesitation.
Like the financial analysts that have been speculating along these lines, Jerry said market consolidation would be in Finisar's best interests (not to mention that of the rest of the industry). I happened to film an interview with Lumentum CEO-designate Alan Lowe later in the day and relayed to him Jerry's comment. So if they haven't discussed this already, I have done my part to facilitate a more rational market...
I expect since Kisner is never right about anything when it comes to Finisar that a merging deal will be happening sooner than later. This does not necessarily mean it is jdsu.
Enjoy the buying opportunity....it won't last long.
I doubt we get any real news till next year (hoping it is sooner), but even if it takes longer than that I will wait because I believe this little $268M dollar company could turn out to be one of the best investments I ever made or will ever make again.
If things don't work out as I think they will then life goes on, but with a little less in the piggy bank.
BTW...Regarding the "board shorter"....why would anyone who claims to be short post a dozen messages daily? If his strong play is the company going bankrupt don't you think he would want to continue to short on every run up and the way to get it to run up is to hype the stock? IMO the "board shorter" is probably someone who bought very high long ago and when the economy took a tank years back had no choice but to sell at a huge loss to pay bills. Now he just wants revenge towards the company that cost him his cash.
Stay patient and one day when you wake up to see if the company has posted any news you may be jumping for joy with the news we are all waiting for.
Enjoy the ride...
I've been out of town for awhile, but have a few questions...
1-For shareholders would this be good because I take it that they would use shares to buy the company
2-Why would JDSU sell this part of their business if build out and spending is right around the corner?
3-Would csco consider going after jdsu's spin off too and if they did buy it what do you think that would do to fnsr as well as the sector.
tia and enjoy the ride to the next leg up....
Duck? I may have that for dinner tonight with a nice bottle of wine.
Finisar will be 40% plus from todays price within a year...YOU can thank me later as well.
Enjoy the ride...
then it's game on, but if my suspicions are correct Mr BS is giving us a crumb hoping the pps goes up so his buddies can exit at a higher price before he files for bk.
Todays volume alone after Mr BS blogs that bulbs are shipping should tell you everything.
Hope I am wrong...glta
