Unfortunately noone is impressed with his purchases anymore! My newest position that he is trying to make this one of the most efficient and highest profit small regional banks in its region. Those long term investors who have been patient realize that this is a slow and tenuous project when you're dealing with mediocre management. Yes the improved yield is moderately appealing but he still needs to do a rollup or sell the whole operation to a well run regional such as BB&T. or PNC.
The current value of a sellout may be far superior to the present value of a sale 4 years down the road even if the BV increases to $18.50 @share!

Perhaps it is good news! Gary Shook ..up may be struggling with Sokol and could be on the way out with a new dynamic CEO on the way in . If it is option related he could have borrowed against the shares. Obviously that's why the stock cratered yesterday with the MM's knowing of the sale . I'll just bet Sokol is aware and unhappy about the lack of faith by the 2 insiders selling. Lets just hope the broom sweeps clean and we get some real managers . And while they're at it reduce Boling from CoB. If DS won't take the job John Lee who has faith might be a reasonable alternative!

Probably not based on news, but perhaps he is wary of the bank making moves to downsize compensation and otherwise more efficient? Could his head be one to fall?

    Sentiment: Buy

  • Perhaps its the free stock that DS hasn't cut off yet . But did you notice the EVP of Finance is also a seller when the two smartest guys in the room are buying. I hope John Lee knows more cuz that's where his money is going! Still have not jettisoned Hartley or the Investment sub. That might be the final shoe to drop before they get their efficiency level sub 65%.

    Sentiment: Buy
