Punishment Would Include Music, Movies and TV Content Sold on iTunes.
Apple Inc.'s AAPL +1.28% e-book problem is spilling over into its other media businesses.
After winning last month an e-books antitrust suit against Apple, the Justice Department on Friday asked a federal judge to limit Apple's influence in the publishing market and give the government oversight of the iTunes Store and App Store.
The government proposals, if accepted, could give music, television-show and content owners more leverage in negotiations with a company that has been an aggressive bargainer in opening up traditional media to digital distribution.
Apple is currently negotiating with owners of video programming about potential new devices and services for the living room. After negotiating with record labels, it recently announced a new music streaming service, iTunes Radio.
The government seeks to prohibit Apple from reaching agreements with media companies that increase the prices at which Apple's rivals sell e-books, music, TV shows or movies.

Per conf call, same store sales up 2.4%, I'd hope so when you raise the prices of egg, chicken, tuna salad and chopped liver 50% just before IPO. Mgmt needs to spend time at Whole Foods and Trader Joes to see what customer service is about. They claim "passionate" employees, hardly in NYC stores. Plus they've cut back on SKUs in their NYC stores. Have to now go to Shop Rite supermarket to get prepackaged Carnegie Deli Pastrami, Corned Beef formerly available at East 86th St store, which told me they now cut back.
I easily return products at TJ (at the register, NO questions asked, NO receipt needed) and WFM, not so easy at Fairway. Their suburban stores are grander, haven't seen them very crowded, yet. Hint: NYC attitude doesn't work well OUT of NYC especially Boston, Washington and wherever they are planning to expand in NE.
You got that right! Their health food sections are run mostly by those not knowledgeable on vitamins, herbs, natural health, etc. Fairway is another example of NYC mentality with appalling customer service with "hood" mentality, same as Duane Reade was (now Walgreens), Cosi, Century 21, Nobody Beats The Wiz, Crazy Eddies, etc. That was good in the NYC heydays of 70s -90s but as they are finding, not so good during poor economic times in NYC and upcoming hyperinflation and deflationary collapse. Possibly they will be bought out.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
They sent out the email below to do a 20 minute survey and get $10 coupon after 2pm today. At 3pm, you were they had all the surveys they needed so tough s-----t. RIPOFF!
Anyone who thinks Fairway is another Whole Foods, get a grip. They are the original NYC ripoff store.
Try and return something purchased after a few days and see what happens! Worse than a nazee interrogation!.
Ask their minority help, many who worked there over 20 years if they were offered PRE-IPO shares.
Plus, they raised all food prices just before their IPO. Chicken salad went from $4.99 to $5.99, to $6.99 to $7.99 in 3 months PRE IPO, THEN they have a SHOCKER sale last month at $5.99 RIPOFF!

At least they don't have to dig up land for gas tanks. They can easily move a Supercharger station to a different location.
TSLA should do what laundromats do, put in TVs, movies, food/drinks to pass the time in the Supercharge stations. Do we not do laundry because we have to wait???
