A television news reporter and cameraman for a Roanoke, Virginia, station were shot and killed Wednesday morning during a live broadcast when an unknown gunman opened fire, officials said. Police were closing in on the shooter after a manhunt and an arrest was imminent, NBC’s Pete Williams reported.
The shooting occurred at 6:45 a.m. near Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Virginia, some 26 miles from Roanoke. WDBJ confirmed the killing of reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27.
One is a start.
That's how it works. End of Story.
Should be interesting.
Bush/Cheney were a DISASTER! We were a hell of a lot better off with Saddam Hussein holding that crazy country together than we are now with it split up into ISIS and five other factions. If only we could have Saddam back, as bad as he was, rather than $2 trillion spent, thousands of lives lost and all these wounded warriors.
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration on Monday announced a slew of small measures designed to encourage the use of solar power hours before President Obama was scheduled to fly to Nevada to speak at the National Clean Energy Summit there.
The measures included making an additional $1 billion in loan guarantee authority available in an existing federal program for the kind of residential rooftop solar projects that have become popular in places like California. But none of the announced measures would provide the impact on the solar industry of the Clean Power Plan, which was announced this month and requires states to cut carbon emissions by an average of 32 percent. That plan provides strong incentives for much of those reductions to come from the development of renewable energy resources — exactly what executives at the conference in Nevada are looking to sell.

“The executive actions and private sector commitments President Obama is announcing today will continue to promote the use and development of smart, simple, low-cost technologies to help households save on their energy bills and help America transition to cleaner, and more distributed energy resources,” the administration said in a statement Monday morning.
(CNN)Bristol Palin took Fox News to task on Monday for looking more like The New York Times than a conservative flag-bearer during the Republican presidential debates last week -- saying she's with mogul Donald Trump on this one.
The daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin also said conservative author and radio host Erick Erickson was hypocritical for calling Trump sexist.
In a blog post on Monday, the Palin scion said while she doesn't fully endorse Trump, she's been infuriated by the reaction to his candidacy and comments in the debate and after, which got him disinvited from Erickson's RedState Gathering over the weekend.
"I used to use this blog to point out how liberals use the 'outrage industry' to manipulate people and keep their power. Now Republicans are just as bad," Palin wrote.
Palin ripped Fox over its treatment of her mother. She cited one instance where "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace joked about hoping Sarah Palin would sit on his lap, and another where Fox News President Roger Ailes saying he hired the elder Palin "because she was hot and got ratings."
Bristol also listed a series of Erickson's hypocritical offenses in her eyes -- including using a demeaning photoshopped picture of her mother, and said Fox should be ashamed to have asked Trump a question about his history of demeaning comments on women in the first place.
"We only have so many opportunities to hear from the fifty million candidates who are apparently running for President. And we get the Fox moderators asking questions that the New York Times applauds?" Palin said. "Please. Let's don't use the Democratic 'war on women' talking points when we have ISIS to worry about."
"Fox and Erickson need to get off their high horse on how outraged they are NOW about sexism and decency," Palin said. "Let's focus on winning the election, not winning accolades from The New York Times."
Fox News and Erickson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Has anyone noticed the higher Trump rises in the polls the lower the stock market goes?
His poll numbers are scaring the markets, for sure.
