    Msft is wrong about Minecraft

If this the first large acquire by the new MSFT CEO ... I think trouble ahead of MSFT. I bet MSFT will come down on its stock price to be around $35 .. probably will reach $32 at some point. This is a #$%$ one. Minecraft has no leg ... the game reminds of me the little tiny square stickers that I used to play with that can form images. I used to spent hours on that darn thing and that was hot for a couple years and now, they don't even make it anymore. What would you pay 2.5 billion on such a fad? You can spend that money and build something that will go further. ZNGA is doing the right things. Working with NFL and Golf, you got sports associations working on promoting their games so in a way, you signed on with partners will push for your product popularity as long as you create a decent game. NFL showdown has 4 out of 5 stars... could be better, but not a bad start.

  • but watch it go back down below $9… if you read the upgrade, it says that until the latter part of 2015 will see growth. Well… until that happens, SGI is not going to trade past $10, unless manipulation by traders. Just looking at the 10Q and 10K, not too good from year 2013 to 2014.

  • watch out… the trend is going down. Still a good stock but if you are swing trading, may want to get out before it heads down to $6.20 … and I have a feeling it may break it and head south to below $6 before bouncing back again… there is no reason for this stock to trade up. Other than the hedge fund is playing it … I would be happier if mutual funds are adding grpn. Oh well.. I am out and will find a good entry point. good luck everyone.

welcome to the board. lcl_liu. I am not always right, thought GRPN would take a breather at 6.20 .. it didn't and ran up to 7. just looking at the chart and thought the uptrend should at least be consolidating $6.5 to $6.7 and then make another move up. However if somehow it breaks down to below $6.5 , then we will be looking at $6.2 for support. i will take a risk and pick up some more at $6.5… hopefully it will get there and then be supported. good luck to all.

  • I like Groupon, but the recent run up is setting up for a quick drop down below $6.50. Hedgefund is going to make a quick $1 per share (~15%) and if it breaks down to $6.5 watch out for $6.20 support. After that ... can go down below $6.... no reason to run back up so quickly. If it is hedgefund buying, watching them dump ... good company, go long term, should be ok.

    Oracle bought Sune Micro

that would make sense. don't you think? But sun micro had java, which was popular.

  • any thoughts on recent drop on alexa ranking?

  • I got hit hard by both stocks and had to listen real hard on conference calls for MM and GRPN. I got to tell you, I like both companies a lot. But GRPN CEO has better conference call skill than MM's CEO. However, MM's CEO is better suited for MM … his experiences strongly suggest that he can run the company on its own or have it sold in a very short time. He has done it all. But if you got some extra $, go GRPN. I let go some gRPN today to get in on MM. Because I feel MM has been beat up too hard. I looked at FUEL and as much as that stock has been beaten up, I feel that stock still has ways to go down. It is programmatic and they claim they have better technology than others (including MM), but it is kind of like one trick pony. I mean, what if there a problem in the way it runs its programmatic ads? what happens, like recently they had the problem of the "quality" of the ads. What if someone uncovers more problems and they only have that leg to stand on. So I put more $ in MM, because it is severely undervalued. No doubt the competition is fierce, but I believe there are enough that MM can have a piece of pie and grow it. Honestly, I don't really trust Google and Facebook. something smells funny, especially with FB. I think Google is just too strong with its search engine, you can't loose with it. But FB smells bad to me, knowing how many kids that I talk to are no longer using FB … good luck to all MM longs.

  • good luck to all longs.

  • i dunno, something is up. i like the company and willing to go long anyway.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • i chased it all the way from 2.71 to 2.75… very low volume. teaming up with largest PC maker in China can't be a bad thing. Remember that any day now that NASDAQ application should come through … that ought to give stock price a boost. Paul's interview was right on the money. Google doesn't have the technology to integrate a true wearable glasses… meanwhile Vuzi teaming up with Nokia, it does. should be interesting.

performance is $4.50 bad not $2.80 bad

I still believe in the CEO. You can not get anyone better than him. He will engineer a bidding war between Yahoo and Google. He already sold a company to Google once, he knows what it takes. He outlined it very well the last quarter, MM is focused on the space that Google is not … so he can build a business to compliment Google.

  • IMHO… this company is at least $4.50 bad and not $2.80 bad…. I guess it leaves room to go up from here. Stock market is a crazy place.

  • go look at his experience … the guy is perfect for this job. if he can't turn MM around, no one can. he built and engineered a sale to google before (admeld) and he can do it again here…

get out of fuel and get into MM

MM offers more diversified of mobile advertising solutions and that includes programmatic that FUEL claims to fame. It is interesting that fuel has comparable revenue as MM … MM has the CEO used to be a top dog at google and then at yahoo. so he definitely knows how to sell ads.

you guys... Lefkofsky is not in it to make 400 more million dollars. He is in it to change the world that grpn is designed to do. I dunno man, I am underwater, but listening to his conference call really makes me feel much better about grpn's future. I don't think you can get a better ceo for grpn than him. so place your bets and lets go.

when you have 1 billion in cash, you can have many next year

  • znga is moving at all front. it is moving forward. it is building future. gluu has one celebrity Kim and they ran up because of that. Now, imagine that NFL has how many celebrities? you do the math and how fantasy football has been penetrating gender neutral market. If znga is the only broad reached mobile gaming for sports, it can be the platform with natural motion technology to make it great. I see tons of potential in a couple quarters.

    ZNGA 2015

    by larrydcpa Aug 7, 2014 5:33 PM
    fpl1971 fpl1971 Aug 7, 2014 5:37 PM Flag

MSFT needs two quarters to get its act together to buy it out. If ZNGA runs up the price, then MSFT will have to pay a boat load of money. So the goal is to keep znga at $3 range and make an offer for $6, so uncle MSFT looks like a white knight and everyone is happy. If ZNGA runs up to $5 and msft offeres $6, then the sale will be tough... you see... it is just like Nokia. Pincus stays out of the way because he is wealthy beyond believe no matter what. As long as znga doesn't fail, his legacy survives.
