What if Sony's license is only for the lower lumen IP ?
I geting a little nervous too . My son is an Officer on the IKE which is set to deploy next year after they are finished with qualifications .
Currently the French and US have carriers on the way - Iran , Russia and China are already there :
ISIS is not the only challenge that awaits the flotilla, which includes the cruiser Anzio, Carrier Wing Air 7, and destroyers Bulkeley, Gravely and Gonzalez. Russian, Chinese and Iranian marines have established their presence in Syria, and Russian warships from the Black Sea have relocated to the eastern Mediterranean to protect fighter jets conducting airstrikes in support of Syria's Assad regime. In preparation, the strike group's Composite Training Unit Exercise focused on adversaries that more closely resembled those of the Cold War.
Splat goes Richard X Roe :
Vuzix was desperate for financing and sold almost 1/3 (30%) of the company for $25m . If Travers didn't make that deal they would have gone BK .
EMAN is not desperate .
FB purchase of Oculus was a fluke . Everyone knows Zuckerberg got taken to the cleaners .
As I stated :
"You have no idea if EMAN has been approached or not . "
Please provide evidence they have not been approached for a partnership or by out .
Sculley has indicated that they have been approached .
Maybe your loss is 60% for the last 5 years . I like many here have a long & trading position so you can make your assumptions all you like .
He's been actively Bashing Vuzix on Seeking Alpha .
"Ask your self- why other companies can garner/attract funding Oculus/VUZIX and not EMAN."
You have no idea if EMAN has been approached or not .
Furthermore , they are not desperate for financing .
Come to the Yahoo Board now with your Bashing ?
Google Glass is used as a generic term like Kleenex is with tissues .
In the south Coke is used as a generic term for soft drink .
Specs haven't been released , cell phone displays used in Oculus & similar VR devices are about 450 nits , I think the EMAN 2K X 2K would run at 800 nits .
This is a VR application and does not require high brightness as an AR application would .
Thanks Don ,
Also EMAN supplies displays for Tac-Eye which was a Vuzix product before their military segment was sold to Six-15 so VUZI was previously a VUZI customer .
Although KOPN has a 2048 X 2048 display , to my knowledge , EMAN has the only optical micro display solution to provide a wide FOV . 110 + degrees which is required for an immersive experience .
So it seems likely VUZI would go with EMAN displays & optics .
However , it could also be possible that VUZI could chose KOPN's displays , claim 4K , then use a lower FOV . That would be a chinchy solution but I would not be surpised as manufactures seem to be choosing low cost over high quality solutions in the VR space .
The players are well aware of the $6 to $8 play . They dumped at the top of this cycle short of $8 while everyone else kept anticipating it going higher .
Look at the chart.
I said $6 to $8 was over . You can't keep capitalizing on the same thing over & over - competition always enters the mix.
The retail investor is always the mark .
Insiders already got in & out . Now just bag holders . Any more questions ?
Also Dan Cui left VUZI & now works for EMAN .
EMAN doesn't really want to make headsets but wants to sell components .
the trick right now is to get a wide Field of View with micro displays .
Currently the only optics that I know of that can give a wide enough FOV - 110 degree + to be immersive - using micro displays is made by eMagin .
They have demonstrated it with their IHMD . Perhaps they are working with VUZI to provide the display & optics .
Remember Dan Cui left VUZI to work for EMAN .
Furthermore , EMAN is not really looking to manufacture end products but is looking to sell components .
So a picture of a Future Vuzix iWear 4K at the Japan InterBEE conference appeared on twitter .
Here is a link . Click on the tweet to get a bigger picture . TheFuture iWear 4K is on the bottom right corner .
The current iWear uses micro displays so I would think their 4K would also .
eMagin makes a 2K X 2K Kopin makes a 2048 X 2048 .
4K is essentially a 4K X 2K resolution .
Does anyone know if 2 2K x 2K displays , one per eye , would be considered 4K ???
