I am speculating that EMAN's WUXGA 1920 x 1200 AMOLED display is replacing the current LCOS display in the ODG R-7 to make the new ODG product "Project Horizon" WFOV.
The new version contains a micro OLED display :
"The glasses work by using a pair of micro OLED displays to reflect images into your eyes at 120 frames-per-second. And the quality blew Urbach away, he tells Business Insider."
Do you know anyone else who has a 2K AMOLED micro display
capable of 120 fps ?
I am also speculating that this opens the door for ODG to move to 2K x 2K EMAN AMOLED displays in the future.
According to Wikik :
"Occasionally,1080p has been included into the 2K resolution definition ."
1080p is included in the broad definition of a 2k resolution . 1920 x 1200 is a higher resolution than 1080p & is even closer to official 2k resolution of 2048 x1080 . In fact WUXGA has more pixels than 2K .
1920 x1200 = 2,304,000
2048 x 1080 = 2,211,840
The original article suggesting 2k per eye states :
"an estimated ‘2K per eye’" - not 2k x 2k per eye .

interesting comment -
The big talk in the industry is convergence. That is using the same GPU for Hollywood, Games, Rendering... The economics behind this is simple. Hollywood creates digital objects that aren't useable anywhere else... the game industry does the same... and 3D artists are using a plethora tools, and all of them are different. Octane is also integrating cloud based rendering to support mid tier graphics work. (With what I said, re-read that release. It will make more sense.)
One engine to rule them all.
