This is a good location, but don't fool yourselves. Halifax hospital is a around the corner and recently the High School was rebuilt, Vince Carter went to it and donated $5M for a sports center, they rebuilt the whole school after his donation. Now for the demographics here. This is nothing like Port Orange location. The kmart is a very old store and probably skating by on being closed.
I have mixed feeling on this location. They will do well at times, when events are in town. But this strip mall, has a lower $$ customer mentality. Will they be willing to pay $10 for lunch or dinner? I have visited the Port orange store and can attest that sales are much lower than when they first opened. I will keep the board advised of grand opening, I plan on going late that evening. Will report ticket numbers.
Could earnings be out this week?
For the record I hated the apple thing. Cookie and fake apple filler. There's no way anyone could stomach two pieces. But each his own.
Schwarz get's something like $350K this year. Then they also hired 3 key management positions. I expected last quarter a nice savings in Administration costs, I didn't see any. So if they couldn't save a dime last quarter, after getting rid of so many, I feel the same thing will happen this quarter. they will not show any gain on getting profitable.
Are you referring to me? You don't see the flour. They have the dough on a platter. I did like that they don't over load it with cheese. One of the biggest costs that go out the window, is cheese.
It was slower than any previous visit. I love sweets, but that apple thing was horrible. There is no way anyone returns wanting another piece. I will swing by around 8PM and see the ticket counts on a Saturday, when I can. I think $22 average is a little high to use as an average. Didn't someone figure it around $18.50 range. The new Ice tea promo sounds good. The apple pie thing sucked. If neither my wife or I liked it, I can guarantee you that it's not winner. I have visited this store on a school day, when it was more busy at 11:30 am then it was 10 days ago. I still own 2500 shares.
Institutions start lining up first thing in the morning. This news was exactly what you want to hear. Could not of wished for anything better then we got today. Good job longs.
5PM numbers should be out. Would love to see better numbers also. Throw in some news on Growth drug and this would be fun to watch.
The building from the outside looks almost complete. The interior still empty, where the trades are still doing their rough in. I ate at the Port Orange store last week. I also got the apple pie desert. Have to be honest, If I never eat another piece of this item the rest of my life, that will be too soon. It was horrible. way to sweet and on top of that, the crust was sweet. It looked so good. I threw most of mine away. My wife ate her piece but had the same comment. No one's waiting for them to role that out again next year.
I've sold some shares recently. I don't think earnings is going to be that strong. Hope to trade back after the news. If they pay Swartz his money and the new management theirs, I don't see them coming close to breakeven. I was the 20 customer they had on Saturday. Got there shortly after Noon. They really cut back on staffing, that was my wife's observation. Maybe when they get two stores, they'll have some budget to advertise.
They maybe right often, but it only takes one miscalculation to give all back and more. My guess that we will soon see the unwinding by the shorts. At Frost's age, the fun part maybe catching the shorts with their pants down. I wouldn't be surprised if Vit D news comes a few weeks early.
Totally agree. I bet a lot of the franchise fee gets eaten up on the first store and by the third store P5 keeps 75% of it. I recall talking to some of the management at the Port orange store, they actually were trained in Texas. Smart young guys/gals willing to ride this train. I've been meaning to drop by the Port Orange store late on a Monday and see what sales look like. I still get reports from friends on their ticket numbers and sales have come back to reality. I no longer believe that store will do $1.3M in revenues, but should flirt with a $1M in revenues. No advertisement to speak off. In fact there's a MY Pie on the beach at the Ocean Walk that advertises.
Maybe when they get two of our stores running the budget will be there for radio. The key here is advertisement. When we start to see national commercials, we will know we have a home run.
Daytona beach new location taking shape. Building is up and hopefully the interior starts to take shape. This is a brand new building, so the piping and electric was rough in while it went up. That should shave some opening time off compared to their Port orange store.
I like to see that Utah and Kansas and Florida owners are moving to multiple stores. They would procrastinate if they were not making money. Hope to see the owner again at the grand opening of this new location. P5 has to do a lot less baby sitting when these owners get to their second and third locations.
Saturday night a friend of mine visited the Port Orange store. He got there at 8:28Pm and was ticket 10164. I thought this wasn't too bad, but store has leveled off. The second location on International drive in Daytona, is moving along. Heard they were advertising for management. This will be a brand new building, so plumbing will already be where it needs to be. I estimate by September this up and running.
The walls are half up, this is a brand new building they will share with Starbucks. The sign is up. The store is 2 blocks from a university and hospital. The Daytona 500 race track is right up the street. The demographics here, is slightly different from the Port Orange store. However, this road gets all the traffic from all the special events that come to Daytona. The strip mall behind it has a whole new face lift. I estimate Sept/Oct for opening.
Great news. That makes something like 180 on the books. I plan on visiting the PO store Monday night late. I want to see how the store compares to my last visit. This will be about 3 months from when they opened on a Monday. I got a free pie coming. My second one. Keep the faith. Once stores start coming on line, news will be every where. remember 99.9% of investors and customers don't even know this exists....yet. Growing pains are part of the process and breaking $10 needs some earnings. More stores mean more revenues from several things we do. Insiders bought recently, which maybe was a sign from management?
I will update on ticket number late Monday and see how it compares from my last visit a few months back. That store was kicking butt, maybe I can get some feedback on how things have been going. I would not be surprised if a second store in Florida is leased and getting ready. I have no knowledge, here just thinking out loud.
Brewers have the best record in baseball. 11-3.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I stopped at the P5 on Sunday. Was ticket 10147 3:05PM. This morning I got a call from another investor, his son visit this same store last night. His son stood in line for 40 minutes around 5:30PM, it was so busy. Glad to hear the Dallas store was also hovering around the 200 receipt for the day. I only spent $2.01. Had a free pie with my points.
Earnings should be pretty good for the first quarter since they lost four executives. No work no expense. If they have some severance pay on the earnings statement this next report, then we will know these guys were asked to leave. Bikeweek starts in Daytona in a few weeks, I hope they get the word out to the bikers. Some 300K bikers roll in for the 10 day event. Will Den56kk be setting up his booth in Daytona?
The one thing that kept me from investing is that no one ever discussed how fast this drug gets in to the blood. The body then washes it out fast. I believe OPKO can perfect it. They love turning losers into winners. Great info.
