So, if CVS hadn't had a stock split in 2005, it's stock price would be 102.86 today, while Walgreens stock price is still, consistently struggling to hit $40. If it weren't for the dividend payout at Walgreens, investors wouldn't be in this stock at all. I think it is time for a change in upper management.
I sold all WAG shares and bought CVS about 2 years ago. Now have an 82% gain. Glad I made the choice. Did not like what new management at Walgreens was doing. All over the board with no clear direction. Now CVS is catching up in the Div p/o and the stock gains more than make up the lower payout. Plus love the new investment in South America. Can't go wrong with CVS. WAG needs new management at the top. Just saying.
