these guys should have been fired a long time ago.
i don't think these guys could even get book value if they sold the bank. the NPLs are a disaster, they can't make money.
all the shareholders are stuck.
whose gonna buy out DPS? doubtful. if anything they need to step up growth and buy some smaller brands or do alliances (like they are). They need to get away from Soda's but should not buy monster which would be a disaster. (not that they could afford it anyway).
the stock was pretty cheap a few years back though.
I also like TAP but i have not owned it since the europe acquisition.
LaCroix is worth a lot more than 2x sales. just that fact shows me you don't know how to value the brands.
is he pumping the stock? i don't know but i doubt it. there is no reason for him to pump it. you should short the stock if you believe it's overvalued.
i think it gets sold and the price is 25. and i think it happens in the next 3 months. will cap off a great investment.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
anyone know why it's going down? we had some puts that we sold when the stock was at 86 today. that was looking pretty stupid
the CEO has been extremely shareholder friendly and very fair to minority shareholders. We don't see anything wrong with the way the special dividend was financed. Personally i think think they could run with more leverage but he's conservative and won't.
i expect this to get sold. I do not understand why "bailout master" would sell. Nick has been signalling a sale for the past few months (in my view) an just like the signalling on the special dividend i think he comes thru.
interesting that you now think it's business as usual for the company after the letter and the earnings report. i think the exact opposite. i think he's signaling a sale or at least a distribution deal at the minimum (and most likely). you said in early Nov you thought a sale - not sure how the two pieces of information would change your view.
i'd be happy with a distribution deal to get sales up to 750-800mm a year.
ko/pep do want to get into the sparkling water game. let's see how they do. they have the brands and the distribution to make it happen.
i don't see the purpose of him pumping the stock. he can't sell in the open market.
