Yeah, it dropped 20% after earnings and yet somehow you are still underwater as a short. That should show how idiotic your choice to short at the price you did was. It also shows complete stupidity you did not cover as it climbed into the 4s before earnings and that YOU STILL are not covering as it climbs back to the 4s.
There really is no excuse for your very special form of stupid. You deserve every dime you are losing. You did not learn the first time, you were given a second chance to cover, and you STILL refused to learn.
Because those have already been riced in for months. The market still has no sufficiently responded to the litecoins sales, console sales, and the turn around in general.
People are risk adverse and that fear is inefficient in the marketplace. It causes many companies that have already begun to turnaround to be undervalued.
This company is not going BK. You must have realized that. Yet you chose to short in the 2s? How stupid can you be?
Yeah, but retailers usually stick with retail prices. What I would like to know is if AMD is increasing their prices or if only the retailers are.
I was on NEWEGG'S notification for when Radeon 7950s cam in.
So I received notice that the Saphire 7950s were back in stock. They were on sale for $189 before the litecoin rush.
When I went to Newegg the Saphire 7950s are selling for $449!!
Nobody is claiming it is one of the best companies in the market.
I am in AMD because I think it is one of the most undervalued companies in the market. 1/4th the value of NVIDIA while owning 40% of the market share and gaining quickly, including a lock on the consoles business for the next 5 years, AND moving into servers while still maintaining a profitable APU/CPU business.
It will at least double in the next 4 months and I am betting it touches the 8s in the next 60 days.
Yeah, AMD has long been better with multithreaed titles but most developers in the bast did not code their games that way. Created an advantage for Intel.
Needs to be illegal for people to go to prison. It should be illegal.
I would like to see wall street bleed red personally.
I am not emotionally connected to trading. I have lost $28K in time it took me to feed my cat.
I see the market in one simple way; "there is no spoon".
I do get #$%$ when I see lies and misinformation. That is a personal peeve of mine since as long as I remember.
However, most of the time when I use a swear word it is because they convey meaning as they should because they are words and words are supposed to #$%$ mean something.
And in fact they do. Since you insist they convey emotion then why would you enforce a social norm prohibiting words that convey emotion? Does there ability to convey emotion not serve a public good? Are emotions not part of the shared human experience and are they not designed to shape our interactions and communications? If I hid my emotions on a forum that already hides the vast majority of communication due to the complete lack of body language and facial expressions on the internet I am further hindering effective communication beyond the minuscule depth to which we are already limited on this forum.
Censoring words due to artificial social norms that have absolutely no bearing on social utility is #$%$ stupid.
Also, I have impulse control issues due to several head injuries during my military career, and possibly due to PTSD. Though in this case my impulse control is not the cause of m use of "bad" words.
I use them because I find artificial and capricious social taboos against some words #$%$ stupid.
*sigh* Thinking profanity exists is a sign of an irrational mind.
The concept of "Curse" words originated in human society based on the superstitious belief that some words actually could "curse" a victim. So they were associated with mysticism, and evil magic.
Eventually as Christianity took root the concept evolved into the idea that some words were profane and angered God. This was the prevailing belief during the dark and middle ages - an era without many significant contribution to human thought or reason.
Over time the idea of profanity lost favor in enlightened society and by the 16th and 17th century many words that were once profane and some that are now considered profane we frequently printed in newspapers, government reports etc.
So how did society begin to frown on them again?
That era was also the rise of a new class of society. The middle class. This class was often primarily former members of impoverished and peasant classes. In order to distinguish themselves from the poor in order to elevate their status in society they started enforcing absurd and artificial social norms that marked their behaviors as "superior". Certain standards of etiquette and dress, certain normative ideas about what could and could not be discussed publicly, even how one should eat and set tables.
These were all created in order to set themselves apart so they could maximize the social prestige of have achieved wealth.
So the concept of profanity shifted from irrational superstition to artificial moral superiority by vanity seeking classist douchebags.
So #$%$ social norms on language.
Why are words like #$%$ considered impolite and bad? ANd all censored on this forum.
While words like rape, murder, genocide, hate, and racism are not considered offensive?
Which invokes the more obscene activity?
Steam machines will have AMD Radeon GPUs and AMD CPUs.
I had to unignore you just to tell you how absolutely #$%$ stupid you are.
Worthless post by an idiot with no money in the market at all. Go #$%$ yourself.
1. Steam machines have AMD processors AND AMD GPUs so I have no idea where you get the idea Steam Machines will hurt AMD.
2. No way in hell a steam Machine will kill PS4 and Xbox one sales.
It does not matter what "everyone you know" runs now. Hell, I run an Intel i7 desktop with two NVIDIA GPUs.
What matters is what they are buying next, and if they are buying NVIDIA they are idiots. Fortunately, though, they probably are not idiots and will be buying Radeons for there next upgrade. Because ALL games being made for the next 5 years will be coded from the ground up to be optimized n AMD GPUs.
Go to google and add this
or just go to google trends and enter AMD and NVIDIA yourself.
Share price and revenue will reflect this trend. This is consumer interest in its most raw form. Right now NVIDIA market cap is 4X AMD's
That is about to change.
They can do this as long as they want to. Just imagine a paper shredder always running in the on position. Occasionally some retail trader will toss some paper into the shredder and it effects the flow of the blades momentarily but the shredder resumes its normal mechanical rate of spin immediately after.
There are order entry options available to HFTs that are not available to the general public. They some are violations of existing regulations but that just means fines and fines are a cost of doing business.
These allow Queue jumping.
Additionally, there is the ability to execute trades and cancellations within microseconds so the trade happens and then instantly cancelled. These keep the price pegged because the trade is reflected in current share prices but the cancellation means the manipulator does not have to assume risk or losses for a trade he just uses the loophole in the system to keep the price pegged without actually changing his holdings.
What has to happen is there needs to be a significant enough change in the actions of non HFT market participants to signal to the algos that run the HFTs that something has changed and they will respond according often all at nearly the same time depending on variations in the algos.
Information in the general public is not going to effect the HFTs actions. however, if the information in the general public causes a significant enough shift in retail investor behavior then it will change the HFTs actions. Usually they will front run the trend once they detect it.
