Anyone noticed the pattern the last couple years where KMP starts to run around late December? The last 2 years are identical - there are 10%+ runs starting around this time into January! Let's hope for 3 years in a row.
The stock is up 185% for the year! That's not could-possibly-maybe in the future... They inked a massive deal with the biggest player in the world. That's not could-possibly-maybe... They are raising capital as part of their expansion plan (possibly as part of their deal with AAPL) to ensure liquidity for their ramp up in production - cash flow is a major challenge for any business about to embark on a huge production increase. You focus on the dilution but not look at the other side of the coin - the ability to meet their future cash needs without incurring debt. If you wait until GTAT proves their potential, you would probably be buying the shares in the $30s or $40s!
What's the argument against AAPL spending a couple Billion and buying GTAT now before the business really ramps up? Is this absurd? If so, intelligent responses are welcome...
Yes sir. They landed the whale. They also navigated through years of horrible solar market fundamentals and are now back on their growth path. These guys are smart and they are executing. GTAT could be a $10B+ company once it's on the radar. They also have a successful solar equipment business and that industry is on a major upleg. So yes the management deserve every penny of their bonuses.
Remember that the short-term traders shorting this down, riding the momentum from $130+ to $100 in days, now have to think about covering. This thing is a coiled spring and could bounce (as it has so many times) violently to the upside and squeeze the $%#@ out of the shorts.
Why not think of this as a buying opportunity? One insider selling should not ring alarm bells. PCYC story and fundamentals are still intact. Do your own research and see.
Typical that shorts get too greedy. Playing with fire here - this thing could go up $20 in a few days - as it did last month.
Because it's extremely cheap and it's growing top and bottom lines. Hell I just convinced myself to buy more tomorrow.
You really should own a basket of the solars. JKS, CSIQ and TSL are the tier 1 companies currently making a profit. These should do very well as long as China, Japan and US continue to ramp up on clean energy.
How much will JKS make next year? And where would they be at the peer PEG ratio? Just askin...
The solars are on fire today. This will do major catch up soon. And shorts will need to cover at the whif of any good news from Saphire.
Don't trust the Chinese. Also, isn't this a reverse merger? No SEC scrutiny. Could go to zero in one day! So many other safer exciting places to invest your hard earned money.
Banmate, Don't overthink this. GTAT has landed THE whale. However, the margins will be pressured since AAPL has a lot of leverage here. But, the volume of the business will way over compensate this. Bottom line is the $$ amount of the profit should be significant albeit at lower margins. Margins are only important if the top-line doesn't grow. With GTAT the top-line will grow dramatically if Saphire is adopted by AAPL. AAPL seems to have done their home work and have shown their commitment with the advance to GTAT. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. GTAT should grow their business dramatically over the next few years. I'm glad to see it's still under the radar here. Also, don't forget the 30% short position. That could spell a major squeeze once the Saphire business start to ramp up.
