So a long term holder waits for the euro to drop and then sells ! Looks like a bad move to me.
Wilbur was a much better speculator, however I had assumed that Prem Watsa was an investor. Looks like a lukewarm investor/ poor speculator.
As for your holding in bkir, I suggest, like you intend to do, waiting for the euro to recover to a more normal 1.20 / $, so another couple of years of waiting.
However BKIR could well get to e0.50 during the wait !
Good luck :)
from report :-
Fairfax sold a third of its original 8.7 percent stake in March last year. At the time it promised to retain its final 5.8 percent stake for "the long term."
so we finally get to know how many IRE trackers there were, and the figure is tiny, under 5% of the shares.
so 5% of 32 billion shares = 1.6 billion shares, so there are 1.6 / 40 billion IRE's ie
good luck :)
