nonsense. XL has little impact on bakken transport and heavy sour crude from Canada doesn't compete with light sweet from bakken. 0 just doesn't want more the oil sands developed and can't stand the thought of something happening that he doesn't approve of. he acts like a spoiled child that has never learned the meaning of the word no
greedy bastid...lol...I was dropping pennies in yesterday too. bought a bunch of this and abcaf for my kids. they got at least another 10 years before I give it to em so what the heck. figure it is better than a tbill
happy new year
This is all about Syria and Russia and Iran not working with SA to get rid of Assad. Petrowar in action with SA trying to bring down Putin until he gets rid of Assad. Once Assad is gone and a deal negotiated in Syria the oversupply will dry up.
SA will cut when Russia and Iran tell Assad to get out of Syria. Until then this is a petro war between SA and Russia and SA is telling Putin that they can outlast him.
if they survive, this 13% drop today seems like capitulation, or at least I hope so. this is beginning to sting a little bit, now under my basis, never thought it would be this low again.
they had a LOT less mouths to feed then too, and no ISIS knocking on their door. If SA cuts their social programs (handouts) the natives will get restless.
it is a moving target. older numbers reflect cost to build out infrastructure and lower EUR wells that were completed with older techniques that are not as efficient. not sure that you can put your finger on what the break even number for a current multi-well pad that is connecting to existing collection system infrastructure is. sorry, no easy number if you want accurate answers
if we sell KOG and buy WLL the next day is that considered a wash sale or since it is two different companies can we take the write down?
wars are being fought over religion, terrorism, and human rights, not oil. it just happens to be that the hotbed for religious conflict is in the same place as the oil. have to wonder how much more peaceful the planet would be without religious conflict
just a matter of time before the process works its way into the field on a larger basis. too bad we can't invest in it. anybody that can stay in the game until this becomes the industry standard should do just fine, even with $80 oil
go read release from NCS Energy for a look at the future

Nov 4 WSJ reports that discusses commerce department encouraging self reclassification
BHP said Tuesday that it had signed an agreement to sell 650,000 barrels of oil that hasn’t gone through the traditional refining process that turns oil into gasoline and other fuels.
Big Swiss trading firm Vitol SA, is buying the ultralight oil, known as condensate, a person familiar with the situation said.
People in the industry said the U.S. Commerce Department, which oversees oil exports, has been encouraging companies to pursue independent exports without having to issue new rulings permitting it, a process being called “self-classification.” The department didn’t respond to requests for comment. Department officials have maintained that there has been no change to U.S. oil-export policies.
