In an unscheduled update, TASER International (NASDAQ: TASR ) reported today that it has just booked "multiple" new orders from international customers interested in buying its eponymous stun guns.
According to the company, $5.8 million in orders for its conducted electrical weapons (CEWs) and next-generation Smart Weapons have been received, and all of them are expected to ship this quarter. TASER's habit has been to record revenues when goods are shipped, which makes it likely that this additional $5.8 million will also show up in the company's revenues for the quarter. This would mean that more than 16% of the $35.3 million in revenues that analysts had been expecting the company to record this quarter are accounted for with the orders announced today. The company's fiscal year ends Dec. 31.
ONLY 16% AND ONLY 3 WEEKS TO GO? DO YA THINK THERE R TONS OF ORDERS GETTING READY TO COME IN?

Deutsche Bank attributes the recent weakness in solar stocks to concerns over weak 2014 demand in China and seasonality in Q1. The firm views the concerns as overdone, saying it does not expect 2014 China demand to decline year-over-year and that Q1 industry shipments should be relatively flat sequentially. Deutsche adds that its checks indicate the policy outlook for large projects in China has improved since mid-November. The firm reiterates Buy ratings on Trina Solar (TSL) and Yingli Green (YGE).
Case For Buying Both Siga And PharmAthene
Dec 10 2013, 07:46 | about: SIGA, includes: PIP
Disclosure: I am long SIGA, PIP. (More...)
Anyone who has read any of my prior Seeking Alpha articles on the court case between SIGA (SIGA) and PharmAthene (PIP) -- "PharmAthene's Damage Award Will Be Limited To Reliance Damages"; "PharmAthene Vs. Siga: An Open Letter To Delaware's Vice Chancellor Parsons" and "SIGA Or Pharmathene: Who Really Won?" -- knows that I think SIGA will not have to pay out a significant damage award to PharmAthene.
I still believe I am right about the probable future outcome of the legal battle between these two companies. However, when I analyzed the overall situation, I think there is a strong argument to own shares in both companies. In fact, I think that SIGA's current share price, which is around $3.16, values SIGA as though they will have to pay a huge damage award to PharmAthene while PharmAthene's current share price, which is around $2.03, is valued as though they won't receive any award from SIGA. Obviously both of these things cannot be true and the outcome will probably be somewhere in between. By owning both of these companies, you should have a positive return on your investment regardless of who actually wins the legal battle between these two companies
