  • I'm convinced that when Paulson's team took that initial position of 2m shares that they thought SGYP was de-risked enough to buy a decent of amount of shares, but since then, their firm must have done some extensive research to buy 3.7m more shares & then a 3rd time with another 3.3m shares for a total of 9m shares. No one knows who the buyer is , but I'm sure they have learned that SGYP will be sold for sure & probably for a much higher price than anyone realized possibly around the 30-35 area, I don't see Paulson tying up his 60m+ for SGYP to partner with another company as this would be a long time in recouping his investment not to mention potential risk factors, since Linzess has been on the market for years & will continue to be sold for @ least another year until the Plecanatide launch in Nov 2016 & there is always other unforeseen issues. Long SGYP

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • I read a tiny article that this may be true, but obviously we wont know for several years, but there will be a book coming out by James Lyons- Weiler PhD called profits vs cures that talks about this subject. Long SGYP

    Reason for Downgrade by Citi

Its already proven that Plecanatide is far ,far, superior to Linzess, there are millions of patients that are waiting for Plecanatide from their doctors, because of the side effects of Linzess !!! My girlfriend has taken Linzess & she has to spend the day at the house because of diarrhea . Its anyone's guess whether SGYP gets acquired next year, but the large number of hedge funds involved would suggest a buyout in early 2016. They will @ least have to partner with Shire or another large pharma for capital & marketing. Long SGYP

The only thing that stinks is you, so hit the shower!! This stock cant go down much farther because too many hedge funds own SGYP & smart investors like myself that understands the fundamentals of the company is holding their shares & only @ a paper loss.

  • A Shire Buyout Is More Than A Possibility

In a nutshell, there are 4 reasons why Shire would be interested in acquiring Synergy.
•Plecanatide is a complementary asset to Shire's growing portfolio of digestive disorder products.
•Shire's reputation for pricey specialty therapeutics with extensive market exclusivity would put plecanatide in the hands of high prescribing gastroenterologists right off.
•Shire's product revenues, which were flat this past quarter due only to the erosion of Intuniv revenue from generic competition, would receive a big boost.
•And Shire would place a promising late-stage compound into its already long list of pipeline candidates - dolcanatide (formerly SP-333) which could command a huge stake of the Opioid Induced Constipation market valued at $2B annually by AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN)

Any company willing to buy Synergy Pharmaceuticals will need to have a worldwide sales force already in place and a commercial portfolio that lends itself to easily distributing plecanatide.

SGYP will have @ least 7 buyers able to buy the company probably for around 3.5b- 4b . I agree they don't have the funds unless they borrow, or take a partner, but a BO is what Gary Jacobs wants, he has said it multiple times. Long SGYP & sleeping well

I look for PPS to go back in the $5 range this week & @ least over $10 if news of positive CIC results gets announced, also a likely short covering rally to follow, this will make SGYP a must own stock !!. Long SGYP

GPRO has always been profitable which a lot of new companies cant say, but If I started a company 10 years ago & was netting 193m a year or 528k every 24 hours, had 500m in cash with No debt, I would be pretty damn happy. The valuation of GPRO was extremely overvalued to start with, making the company look like they are going bankrupt with the selloff. Note: Most people make around $22 an hour average.... Nick makes 22k an hour , also the interest on 500m @ 5% is 25m a year. GPRO will innovate into an enormous company within the next 5 years, buy low & sell high is still a great strategy that has made lots of people including myself lots of money!!!

Many shareholders know that the success of Linzess has already paved the way for Plecanatide, hence the numerous articles on a highly de-risked investment since no patients has had any major issues with taking any indication of Linzess, but the key difference will be that SGYP will be sold to I'm betting Shire so they will certainly reap the rewards with a much better drug & with higher sales!!! while investors will reap the rewards of a BO premium !! Long SGYP

Remember Amazon when they was just selling books, like many I overlooked them as an investment, & Netflix comes to mind as well, DVD rentals was being replaced by streaming , so lets not assume GoPro will just have mountable action cameras, which we know they are clearly moving into other areas. I'm not missing the boat again , bought 500 shares & holding through good & times & bad, so yeah I'm marrying Nick lol @ least for 10 years because GPRO will be trading in the $400+ area by then ?

Linzess sales certainly wont end once Plecanatide gets to market , but its safe to say their market share will decrease given the higher tolerance of Plecanatide. The chemist who developed Linzess was employed @ IRWD, & soon after coming to SGYP he tweaked the formula to a near perfect drug although patent issues did come up & now resolved. Linzess is still a good drug that works but Plecanatide is far better with minute side-effects.

We remind investors that one of the key competitive advantages for Synergy’s lead candidate, plecanatide, is reduced incidence and severity of diarrhea as a side effect. If low-dose linaclotide were to enter the market with clearly improved safety and equivalent efficacy to the currently-approved doses of linaclotide, the degree of differentiation between linaclotide and plecanatide may be reduced. However, we note that plecanatide remains the direct analog of the naturally-occurring human peptide, uroguanylin, and that Ironwood’s drug has not been directly compared to plecanatide in head-to-head studies,” the analyst continued.

Selvaraju concluded, “We would advise investors to accumulate Synergy shares on any weakness driven by sentiment around release of this competing data.”

What a bunch of nonsense #$%$, I've never seen you but I'm quite sure your eyes are brown!! Plecanatide will be a huge success, who cares if they get bought out or not, there is still enough upside for a good trade. Long SGYP PS: There are over 150 institutions with decent positions, not to mention thousands of smart investors who are holding shares........ although sadly your not one of them. Happy New Year to all
