The stock will drop 5 dollars on the x spinoff date so it is logical for the stock to edge up before the spinoff since the dividend will be maintained,I would also prefer to pay the capital gains tax rate vs. the tax rate of a distribution.I might buy back on February 3rd depending on the price at that time.
I would not sell until just before the spinoff x date which I believe is Feb 3rd.(in other words I might sell on Feb 2nd).Don't forget that they will be maintaining the dividend after the spinoff and will have to increase it in February I believe because of higher earnings. They currently pay 46 cents and I expect the dividend to increase to at least 54 cents some time next year based on last quarter's excellent core earnings of 61 cents.I can see shares reaching close to $30 by February 2nd if there is no secondary. As you must already know they have excellent management.
Also, during the call Barry said that the single family home division diluted earnings so earnings would have been closer to 65 cents.I expect earnings in 2014 to be in the $2.60 to $2.80 range.
Where do you think the stock price will be after the Christmas quarter and do you think KORS will go back to the low 70s this year? You say that you will not be surprised at slowing sales,is that what the reps at Macy's,Nordstroms, etc were suggesting at the locations you visited?
This is the best managed REIT and gets no respect but it will. They made 61 cents last quarter.I expect next year that the dividend will be increased to $2.20,plus we have the spinoff of the single family division which goes ex on Feb. 3rd.I expect the stock to go up as we get closer to this date.Barry Sternlicht is brilliant which is another reason why I am invested.
He was right all along about this company.I bet even he was surprised how poor the results were and how much the stock dropped,He was also right about the pumpers who are getting clobbered here this morning.
We love Israel, but Israelis don’t like Obama

Two sets of poll data remind us how unusual is the current relationship between President Obama and the state of Israel. Support for the Jewish state is near all-time highs.
President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meet in March, 2012 (Reuters)
Gallup shows that “Americans’ sympathies lean heavily toward the Israelis over the Palestinians, 64% vs. 12%. Americans’ partiality for Israel has consistently exceeded 60% since 2010; however, today’s 64% ties the highest Gallup has recorded in a quarter century.” The split between Republicans’ sympathy for Israel (78 percent) and Democrats’ (55 percent) remains vast. (“Palestinians receive the highest sympathy from Democrats, liberals, and postgraduates, but even among these, support tops off at 24%.”)
Meanwhile, a new Israeli polls reports:
38% of respondents said Obama has revealed a hostility towards Israel during his time in office, while a third of respondents said they believe that Obama has been supportive of Israel. 14% said they believe he is indifferent to the Jewish state.
The survey also examined the Israeli public attitude towards the President. 32% responded that they respect Obama but don’t have a favorable opinion of him, 19% had an unfavorable opinion and 17% had a highly unfavorable opinion. 10% responded that they have a favorable opinion of Obama.
This is of course baffling to Israelis who see that an overwhelmingly pro-Israel United States has elected someone they see as hostile to them. (Hey, it is distressing to many conservatives as well, but I have no doubt that 51 percent of voters didn’t support the president because they saw him as hostile to Israel.)
Liberals remain even more confused as to why Israelis don’t like the president. Well, if you select Chuck Hagel as defense secretary, make disparaging remarks about the elected prime minister to the French president, tell Israelis they don’t know what is in their best interests, condemn them for building in their own capital, encourage Palestinian rejectionism by inflating the settlement issue, radiate antipathy toward use of military force even if needed to prevent Iran from going nuclear and give a big speech in Cairo omitting the mention thousands of years of Jewish attachment to the land of Israel and its repeated efforts to offer Palestinians their own country, the vast majority of Israelis aren’t going to like you.
Can one trip solve that? Who knows. But unless the president can establish a better rapport with Israelis and engender more trust from the country’s elected government, the United States will have little influence in restraining Israel from acting unilaterally against Iran or in inducing any “risks for peace.” You see, the Bush administration had it right: Israeli becomes more willing to take risks and to exercise restraint when it has high confidence in the U.S. administration and believes in its collective kishkes that the president has their interests at heart. When they believe the opposite, the reverse will follow.
57% of Israelis Want Romney in the White House
A recent survey reveals that a majority of Israelis would like to see Mitt Romney become the next president of the United States.

First of all,the fact that you have been on this message board almost day and night for years now shows that you must be a loser in life.
Second, the people of Israel in poll after poll showed they wanted Romney to win overwhelmingly.Only a dumb liberal would think that Israelis wanted Obama to win.
Again,Obama was only elected because he was lucky to face the dumbest electorates in American history with the changing dumber demographics.
Not a muslim sympathizer you airhead liberal,I've never heard the word Islamic radicals from his mouth after any attack commited by Muslim terrorists including the most recent attack in Kenya.
The PM of Israel wanted Romney to win for obvious reasons and he knows more about when Iran will get a nuclear weapon than Obama,no doubt about that.
Oh I will not forget about Wright, shows his character,of course he denounced him afterwards,he was running for President in the second dumbest electorate in history, the first being the election of 2012.
Stupid that you don't see this President and administration will allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon under their watch, they are getting closer than ever thanks to a Muslim Sympathizing President who called Jeremiah Wright a great man and who admitted in an ABC interview that he is of the Muslim faith only to correct himself a few seconds later thanks to the left leaning interviewer.Leave it to a dumb liberal like yourself to think that someone can unintentionally say that he is a muslim.Everyone who saw the interview on youtube that has a brain are convinced that he is of the muslim faith except for dumb liberals who are out to bankrupt America.
The current President of Iran in his 2011 book wrote that while he was the chief nuclear negotiator from 2002-2006 he wanted to create an atmosphere of calm so that he could fool the world while going ahead with their nuclear program.Of course, this is why Netanyahu correctly said that he is a sheep in wolves clothing.Only a liberal Democrat would believe in negotiating with him after reading this excerpt from his book, dumber than dumb.
Hitler was also democratically elected you dumb nutcase,I'm sure you would have invited him over to your house for dinner after one of his rants. How come Bush did not invite the leader of Hamas to the White House even though they were elected democratically?I could also make the case again with Jeremiah Wright why a liberal is dumber than a rock but I will not waste my time with a liberal loser like you.
It's funny how Davisfoulger doesn't comment on Obama's invitation to Morsi to the White House who called Jews descendents of pigs.I hope Davisfoulger and the Democrat voters lose their shirts in the market next week.
I agree Larry. Also don't forget they have 6.5 million on the balance sheet with no debt and are cash flow positive. The market cap is under 12 million so the valuation is compelling like you stated.Good luck.
