" Meanwhile, the Tesla Model S electric car's first review painted a mixed picture. The model received an above average reliability rating with very few complaints about the battery system; however, as production has increased, so have the number of issues.
"The very first models from Tesla, it is almost as if they took one of the vehicles and went over it with a fine-tooth comb and made sure each one of those vehicles were right," said Jake Fisher, Consumer Reports' director of auto testing. "Now that they are ramping up in terms of their volumes, they are really going to have to figure out how to make these cars continue to be reliable.""
Good point, you'll probably see it in stationary use first.
Agree, but the safety aspects of some degree of automation is very desirable.
Exactly what VW, Daimler and other manufacturers are planning on doing. They will concentrate on core business of making vehicles, not get involved with batteries, tires, etc.
He is an expert on everything, just ask him. Actually, he is not even an engineer.
Batteries are a commodity, and I doubt Tesla's US manufacturing facility can produce anywhere near the efficiencies that are needed. Tough to compete with Asia on pricing.
How can you afford to put that kind of detailed analysis out for free?
Nissan, Mitsubishi, BYD, are outselling Tesla already. Other manufacturers might someday make the ICE vehicle obsolete, but Tesla will be long gone by then. Not to say the Tesla cars arent great automobiles, because they will make nice collector cars.
The tulip bulb and Tesla may both be collectors items soon, I'd hold the bulb and sell the stock.
Ahh, trying to arrange a beat?
Set it low enough and it could happen.
Shouldnt every Tesla analyst be given a drug / Koolaid test?
How about the "investors" that paid $293?
Agree, its headed lower now unless things turn around.
All I see is increasing competition, which will lower margins in all
areas Tesla is selling in. The fact that Nissan, Mitsubishi and BYD are
already outselling Tesla is very telling.
Socal, your alias says so much.
I hope TSLA does another pop up. Musk seems to be getting much more desperate with every tweet, as the competition passes Tesla by.
