Ben, believe me, we are on the same page. Bugged out years ago & am very self sustaining. I hope that it never happens, but if it does, I and the neighbors (miles not feet away) are very prepared (and "organized") in every way. In the meantime, planting some tasty mesculin to replace that just harvested is never a bad thing! :-) The great thing about a sub-tropical climate - year round harvests.
ps for the grammar police, yes, I realize that should read "a possible" not "an" but iPad editors seem to have minds of their own sometimes.
Jericho was fantastic and it is too bad that it was short lived. The premise was truly an possible and very plausible method of taking down the US from within for the enrichment of an elite corporate entity along with some key psychopathic politicians, bankers, etc.
As for Future's End, I'm picturing the Russian oligarch having his drink knowing that all 4377 is breaking loose and there is nothing he can do to stop the dominoes from falling worldwide.... and in that vein, I'm going to pour a drink and go plant some more lettuce.
I am not saying to buy or sell here but I will predict that GOOG will reach new highs by the end of 2015 (unless the entire world collapses back to the dark ages, then no company's stock price will ever matter again ;-) ;-) ).
A little light reading (at least the beginning of this e-novel was worthwhile) for the holiday season especially on the heels of the ruble's problems. Did anyone else read this when it was available back in 2010 on Amazon and any comments given the occurrences of the past 2 weeks?!?
I think it is time for the Andromedan Council to allow some of us to immigrate off this rock already - there clearly is not any intelligent life on planet Earth.
If Calpers divests now, you know that it is the bottom of this cycle. I am being serious here. We are in the middle of a currency/energy war and these flower children want to sell coal and other consolidated energies in the middle of this "skirmish"???? Brilliance - NOT!!!
PS The production of solar energy components yields some pretty toxic pollutants which need to be transported and treated to avoid contamination of the environment. 64 Million dollar question to solar lovers: Are the modes of transport and treatment powered by fossil fuels or "renewable" energy sources?
Last time I looked, solar is NOT used in the production of steel and syngas; but I guess that the coal haters think that the only thing coal is used for is to generate electricity.
NYSx- You read my mind. MO was a big winner for me as well on both the common and the bond sides. I bet on ANR under $2 with the same thinking. Time will tell but one thing is for sure - coal demand, at least for outside of the US, is still in play.
Well, if we are to follow your argument to its logical end, humans are bad for the environment so….. c'mon you're a smart boy, figure it out.
Coal will be around for a while; it is a matter of which companies die and which are consolidated and/or get gobbled up by some foreign based multinational. My crystal ball was taken by the aliens from another thread (and it never worked that well anyway) so I can't tell you whether ANR goes b/k or not down the line, except for right now, there are other companies out there closer to b/k than ANR.
You Tube's fabu - really. All those videos of sun dogs passing for Niburu (or Planet X or any one of a zillion other death planets or brown dwarfs which are supposed to take us out of our misery on Earth) are very telling as to the reliability of most videos. Of course, there is always Greer's Disclosure which was interesting but…… and of course, any time I want to cheer up, a good vid with David Icke is always welcome (or any video espousing that Barack, Georgie Jr, George Big Daddy, Hillary & Bill, Babe-a-licious Nancy, and the rest of the rancid lot are reptilian shape shifters who are changing our atmosphere to accommodate their fleet when it arrives after which humanity will become a food source for the reptilians). Yep, gotta love You Tube (as good as an evening of listening to Noory and Hogeland with his multiple rock photos which always look like rocks but he will swear that it is a motor cycle helmet or a petrified body part -but the Iguana did look like an Iguana, I'll give him that one).
Whaaa???? The Government can't get a sensible national healthcare plan implemented but it can take down the Taelons? Well, wonders never cease! :-)
Leir also believed that the moon was really an alien space craft akin to the world from ST:OS "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky". …. It looks like George Noory is out another guest.
Solar is a non-player in the energy game. As for NG, well, it will be interesting to see what happens in the future as far as fracking. One unfortunate geological event in a heavily populated area which can be decisively traced back to this process will prompt the shutting down of this process and NG prices will rise considerably. Coal will continue to be a component of energy generation on this planet for a very long time to come barring the discovery of some "miracle" fuel/ "miracle method of generating energy" to keep up with the world's energy needs.
