@CCC: Have you received the standard paperwork from your brokerage firms wherein you report your bond holdings, etc. to the trustee (or hasn't the paperwork been issued yet) ? Thanks in advance for your response.
2021 last trade $4.25 this morning. It will probably stay there into b/k since it will probably recover at least this amount in b/k.
In the old B-school days, this was a quick ratio of total assets minus total liabilities. In real life, shareholder's equity is usually a figment of accounting fiction and is meaningless in b/k.
The only thing I don't understand is how a b/k judge won't have an issue with the recent NG purchase. If the company was in distress, the monies should have been allocated to paying the Aug 1 maturities. It will be for this reason alone that I'll follow the b/k case. The decision of the judge in this situation will make for interesting precedent.
Anything they have to say they'll save for Aug 5th unless they have decided to not pay Saturday's interest payment, at which point you'll most likely see a PR issued re b/k after the markets close late Friday afternoon.
Not disagreeing with the substance of the article, but you do realize that THE MARKET REALIST is under the Yahoo umbrella these days and basically regurgitates information from other sources? Seeking Alpha is also a Yahoo figment.
Oh, to ever see this stock at 81 cents again (4/30 close). Fond memories!
Actually, I didn't forget it - Yahoo cut it out of the post (I guess it was a length problem) and I didn't notice it. Thanks for posting the rest.
ALPHA NATURAL REPORTEDLY NEGOTIATING TO SELL MINES
Alpha Natural Resources Inc. is closing in on a deal to sell a half-dozen of its Appalachian mines as the coal producer negotiates a potential bankruptcy filing amid the industry's worst downturn in decades, according to a news report.
Revelation Energy LLC, run by Jeff Hoops, is negotiating a purchase of Alpha Natural's mines in southwest Virginia and eastern Kentucky, Bloomberg News reported, citing a person, who asked not to be named because the discussions are private. The cash value of the deal would be low, but Revelation would assume liabilities associated with cleanup costs, the person said.
ccc- have a scotch, my friend!!! You've gone full tilt b/k since ANR was pinked. Have faith -the company just might make its 8/1 payments and might pull a rabbit out of its hat during the earnings report on the 5th. Can you imagine? The bonds might actually start crawling back to an unrespectable $10. Woo hoo!!!!
Ben, I'm sitting here doing paperwork to C2CAM and Noory just said that that the family of the guy who was found with 1200+ firearms said that he was an alien-human hybrid and he was storing all the arms to protect himself and others from an alien takeover. Thought you might want to follow this story. It sounds like it is going into a "fun" direction.
