  • The DOJ has agreed to settle with BOA for $17B, but BOA is holding firm on its third such offer experts are calling fair for $13B. The balance sheet for BOA has been held down with debt from litigation, however its core fundamentals based on bank deposits, lending, and IPO deals is very strong. Investors are cautioned against making investments without understanding the core operating model, which appears to be strong and in break out territory.

Why, because the company's strong revenue has written off 84% of its debt already, with reserves factored into rolling capital to cover the final imminent settlement with the DOJ. It is important to factor the settlement which should be forthcoming into your analysis, and its impact on the stock as well as earnings.

Todays earnings call recap supported that BAC's fundamentals are very strong, their 2 QTR earnings beat expectations if you remove litigation costs. Revenue growth also beat the streets estimate if you remove litigation costs. What does this mean to investors, the stock is poised to reach $18 in the next quarter or sooner. The outlook for the stock is buy, and hold until $18-$20 range.

The highs of $17+ will soon return as BAC has already factored in the adjustment now 3 weeks + on the books. The company has announced a dividend increase which will foster new investment, and the stock has not yet reflected the upside of its growing deposit base, new incentives for savings / checking / atm core businesses, and aggressive loan program for home buying. Expect strong momentum with funds staying put, as the baseline stays strong.

You are right, thank you for pointing that out, that is what I meant to say. Appreciate the correction.

    Go Ford

  • Ford has invested in re-tooling for new products that will outpace the competition, specifically, the new Transit Van will be everywhere by 2016. Sales of the new Transit are already pouring into dealers, and exceeding dealer expectations. Its no wonder the new full size Transit has been well received, its available powertrains, V6, V6 eco boost and commercially popular diesel are the best in their class. In addition to the powertrain options, the Transit design is sleek, and a cut above Dodge van, outdated Chevy van, and MB Sprinter. The new Fiesta is the top selling car in the compact segment in Europe and now the US. The new Mustang sales orders have begun, and filling up quickly as dealers embrace the new lines and ergonomic improvements. Fords cash cow is the F150, and the new aluminum frame truck that was restyled for 2015 is about to land at dealers with demand through the roof. So how does this relate to the stock, only up from here. The company has already invested and slimmed down losing operations, increased sales will only drive revenues. Expect Ford to only edge up from here, and once the numbers start to trickle in, it will take off.
