I am patiently waiting for my $30/share after the merger, short squeeze or no short squeeze. The fact that Q is hanging around over 90 is a good sign of pps holding.

Dude, there are more shares sold at 8.64: 9,138 shares @8.64 sold at 16:23 and others. There's even 1000 shares sold at much higher price of 8.67. It might even be hedge funds buying and selling among themselves to drive down the price.

This a short sighted opinion based on his biases and perception about Acthar. It is obvious that he did not do a thorough study and research. If this is really just a 'snake oil', doctors and the whole medical community would have denounced it as such. It's been around since 1952 and still being prescribed ? That's the proof that it works for what is intended- medication of last resort to chronically ill patients.

Deal is done, and its a Buyout

If that would happen, even a strong partnership deal will surely results into a huge short squeeze. Why because MNKD is very popular stock retail investors and 47% is held by insiders, 52% is held by institutional holders. I've seen highly shorted stocks gets to the roof when a binary event or catalyst go against the shorts. DNDN went down to as low as 2.80 early 2009, the following year when FDA approved its only drug Provenge- it went as high as 57 and close at 54. QCOR went down from 54 to 17- 2 years ago on rumors, lies and innuendos by the shorts, now its trading around 95 waiting for shareholders approval for a merger with MNK.

I think that would not be a bad thing. Al Mann is will still be making a huge profit with his investment and surely he would not sell at a loss. Let's just hope and pray that a deal either in partnership or buyout would happen soon or else our patience and resolve will be tested very soon. The weak and anxious retail investors will wilt and give up and only the strong- minded, resolute long term investors will hold for a potentially huge profit for years to come.

    Nice Comeback In Yesterday Trading

Yes, it was. Just like I said I would be buying more. I bought 1000 shares @8.43. Negative news and opinion have more teeth in driving the price down in this volatile market. Quantifying risk takes time and retail investors tend to sell in panic and assess the situation later whether to buy it back or stand aside. Most of the risk is gone, and long term prospect is brighter than ever. Why sell now? The trick is to stay long with enough shares one can afford to hold and/or hold a core position and 'swing' trade a portion or even half if one have substantial shares like 10K shares. I've more success in this game than shorting a stock. GLTAL!

I am taking Embrel for my RA which clearly states the risk for cancer, lymphoma, infections and others.
And yet millions like me are taking it.

It could happen. It happened to QCOR. The stock was heavily shorted over the years that the CEO and mgt sold the company to MNK. The shorts was toasted.

The MF article is very encouraging and the positive opinion is very valid. I think the only thing that is keeping the share price down is the huge short position. I totally agree with author that the greatest risk is to short the stock. GLTAL.

DNDN is a very different from MNKD. Inhalable insulin have wider market and can be sold to the same population many times in their lifetime. Dendreon's Provenge is just once and only have a limited market penetration, have very high cost to make and don't have enough incentive and support for the medical community to sell. But if you have sold most if not all your DNDN shares after FDA approval, you could made a huge profit.

I started as a swing trader but eventually you get tired of the game. The only way to win big is to accumulate and stay long IF you think you found the stock that would yield multiple returns. I have a half dozen stocks on portfolio, I only sell if I need the money to buy something else or balance my portfolio. I started buying MNKD @6.50 and still buying on every dip. If your goal is to build wealth for your retirement, you got to buy and hold for long term. And when it's time to sell a few or trim your holdings or sell all shares, you would know. GL !

I share your frustration. But this really has gone up since Adcom. And the shorts have largely put a lid on the price. Unless they give up or there is some good news like partnership and in the near future, successful product launch, this will be range bound. I'm holding my core position and will trade whenever, buying on dip and selling on the rips.

That would be 400% return for my investment, not too bad. But I would rather wait for a year or 2 for a much bigger gains.

    Buyout Question

I have a similar experience where my entire stock portfolio net value was not enough to cover my margins. The broker just gave me 2 weeks to pay up, or else they send my account to a collection agency and will surely destroy my credit rating. That was the last time I use margin.

I can understand your passion for fairness, but nobody really knows for sure what will happen next. All we can do is hope for best. Either way, partnership or a buyout, it will be at least an easy double from last Friday close. The momentum for upside while waiting for such event is very strong, that I would be selling some of my other stocks to buy more shares even up to +$12/share. GL.

    OT: MNKD FDA APPROVAL

    by getrichqk2 Jun 28, 2014 10:54 AM
    getrichqk2 getrichqk2 Jun 28, 2014 1:08 PM Flag

I bought when it was going down only on a hunch that it was price manipulation. The trick is to buy at market price. My orders were filled @9.14, 9.40, 9.69 and 9.99 for a total purchase of 1K shares. The nice thing about it was I sold 1K shares @10.50 the day before only because I was losing sleep over it.
Now I'm thinking holding on to a large portion until at least partnership or maybe for a year or 2. Thanks to my QCOR profit I was able to start a large position on MNKD @6.50 !

I know DNDN very well. Had a very similar up and down pps histories like MNKD, but that's where the similarity ends. Provenge have a high cost of production, due to logistics, etc. unlike MNKD's Afrezza where it can be easily made and dispense to millions of users. I think the big difference is Provenge can only be sold once to a patient and it's done. While Afrezza will be sold for many years to come to the same patient population.
The point is Afrezza have better potential than Dendreon's Provenge. Although I am swing trader by experience, I do hold a few stock for longer term hold to maximize my returns. And MNKD will be potential blockbuster stock, either thru partnership or outright buyout by a much bigger Pharma. It will also be a good trading opportunity to sell a few on huge rips- IF and when a huge short squeeze happens. GL!
