Is how ridiculously overpriced the market remains even following this correction. And of course how many Bagholders didn't learn their lesson in the last correction. As they would say in the GEICO commercial, thats what Bagholders do.
In other words, keep the punch spiked so that the market bubble can be deflated slowly. So people with ridiculous equity investments can keep artificially induced gains in value? If you don't raise rates after a prolonged bull market and when energy prices have collapsed, when do you? Rate increases should have started last summer, and every meeting should result in at least a 1/4 % increase if not more until 4% is achieved.
LOL. I guess that's why they are called bagholders. They never learn.
Andres, I told you months ago I told you I was holding a large cash position and had some realistically valued blue chips, paying real dividends.
I haven't started buying yet, will start nibbling on some value when I do, most likely in the energy sector first. I believe in buy low, sell high, in contrast to the typical DIS investor.
The markets have clearly not reached any sort of bottom yet. In any event, the Disneys of the world are the worst place to be parking money. Value will become the order of the day.
And yet, there are still people chasing outrageous valuations.
I'm loaded with cash, may start nibbling, I will be buying the beaten up stocks, not the ones that still sport unrealistic valuations.
or as good as they seem. This will correct a lot further than people think. Although current fundamentals could justify a price of 75, the market is telling anyone who will listen that the current fundamentals are worse than they appear.
"I'll step up. As noted before, bought DIS every Jan last 6 yrs. After recent beat-down, I'm up only 150%"
Cherry picking. And in the 6 years before it was basically flat. DIS has basically quadrupled in value in the last 6 years. Nothing that has happened in those 6 years justifies a quadrupling. A wise person wouldn't look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth IMO. Nobody makes money trading or investing buying market tops.
Unfortunately the longs have equated peak economic and market cycles with growth. Entertainment may be a changing industry, but it is a mature industry. The mistake of the longs is that they are willing to overpay based upon an assumed future. There is no factoring in of any risk whatsoever, present or future, none. They complain about analysts recycling old news, but yet all we read from them is Star Warts and Shanghai recycles.
This should end up well below 90 as valuation corrects.
Viacom has its own issues but is much more reasonably priced than Disney. Good time to be sitting on cash, Mr. Market will be giving you a lot of buying opportunities.
"I love idiots that are so butt hurt over losing money they refuse to sell and lose more..45 years of investing..and still this #$%$ ignorant on how it works..kind of sad"
Ding ding ding ding. We have a winner. The best loss is indeed an early loss.
You don't get it, do you? You need to read the posts here more often to be enlightened.
The weakness results from a conspiracy by the analysts because they want to buy the shares cheaper.
Of course, this means that when the analysts were upgrading to achieve the current inflated price levels, they were probably also only doing this o9nly so that they could have a good stock to short.
It's called bagholder logic.
And the big boys are dumping I presume so that they can buy back cheaper. You guys kill me. Lots of excuses, zero common sense.
I am not a "hater" bro', I'll leave that to the PC crowd.
I don't have to justify my posting to you or anyone else. I do resent ignorance, however, and I am doing my best to respond to it when I see it. If someone can't understand that a 19% increase in an insignificant dividend is itself insignificant, they should. In my opinion.
The "still on break from school" jab at me, did you think of that on your own? I'll bet you did.
Wrong. The dividend this company can afford attests to how obscenely overvalued the share price is. Decent company other than the politically correct #$%$ they love to ram down the throats of America. (ABC was sleazing Trump again last night.) In fact I watched the Oklahoma and Kansas game last night and I spend a lot of viewing time on ESPN. Until DIS gets out of the business of politicking, and until the share price represents value, count me out.
Bandit, I'll have another "real" growth stock for you soon to hopefully get you out of this mature entertainment company, which is no place for someone looking for "growth".
I am still waiting to make my entry. I need to get my position staked before I give it to you. Thanks for your continuing interest.
