jojo, I totally agree and have been saying the same things to anyone who will listen. Carrying our logic a step further, since LINE was trading at $42 before ANY of this happened, shouldn't all the positives since then make it worth a bit more than $42? I'd surely like to think so.

Doesn't change a thing except for making us feel like we're smarter than everyone else. What will be will be regardless of what goes on here.
I really don't see how BRY is a winner if they cancel the deal. Although they reported a good quarter, it doesn't lower their debt or raise their current dividend. Also, I believe much of the rise in their share price is due to the anticipation of a deal and will quickly be lost if they cancel. The mainly institutional ownership is aware of these facts and I think the best they can do is try for a better deal or wait until the market settles more in their favor. As far as LNCO sweetening the deal, I would much prefer a one-time cash payment as opposed to issuing more new shares which would require an increased payout perpetually on the newly issued shares. As a LINE shareholder, I would prefer to see the deal get done as proposed and I think we have a good chance. GLTA

johnmbeek, great job! Some people think it makes them sound intelligent spouting off something they read in a book and they remain trapped in their meager existence. You obviously know a good opportunity when you see it and act accordingly. I'd call that thinking outside the box. Enjoy!
I agree to disagree, but what in the world does that story have to do with our discussion? If it is a tribute to government programs, it is meaningless without a multi year study of the results of that program. Maybe it's a huge success or maybe those are the only 2 people to ever succeed. How do we know?
I know of more than a few people who don't have a job because they are making out OK on unemployment insurance. Meanwhile, jobs are going unfilled because of exactly that attitude. When I was younger and collecting unemployment, I took whatever job I could find to get out from under that stigma. Today it's no longer a stigma, but a badge of honor.
It is truly amazing to listen to some of the people who are now losing their current coverage. It usually goes something like "Well yes I voted for Obamacare, but I never thought it would affect ME". Truly mind-numbing!
One reason you or I might use that site is that Obamacare is taking away our current coverage that your President promised we could keep so that we can find something to replace it. Current government estimates are that there may be as many as 60 million in that boat by the end of 2014. Open your eyes!
mikesims, believe it or not, I feel for your brother and his family. Like you said, he sounds like a good man. But there are a lot of people worse off than him. Should the government step in and take away from your brother's family and give to another family that is even more needy? Where does this stop? "I felt bad that I had no shoes.......Then I met a man who had no feet."
I don't have all the answers, but you need to learn that you don't improve your own lot in life by taking away from others. Best of luck to you and your family.
mikesims52, what do you know about how I take care of my family or the "least fortunate" citizens? I am a Christian and I do more than you can ever believe to help others, BUT....I do it because I choose to do it. Most Conservatives, including myself believe in the Constitution of the United States of America. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in that document that gives the government the right to take anything that I have earned and give it to others, less fortunate or not. What gives the government the right to take MY money to take care of YOUR family? Your wonderful President, who is a multi-millionaire has a half brother living in EXTREME poverty in Kenya, but the President's enormous, caring Liberal heart doesn't see fit to give him a dime! That is his right, but is is also a GLARING example of the Liberal Philosophy of taking care of the less fortunate WITH OTHER PEOPLES' MONEY.
All the government handouts, starting with LBJ's Great Society Program have done NOTHING to cure poverty. As a matter of fact, after spending countless trillions of dollars since it began, we now have all-time record numbers of citizens receiving government handouts from welfare to food stamps to Obama Phones to Medicaid to disability, etc, etc, etc. The only thing that program has accomplished is to create a welfare dependent society that has MORE people RECEIVING government handouts than we have people working to pay for those handouts. This nation was founded on rugged individualism and is rapidly deteriorating into a WELFARE STATE.
So I will ask you again: What gives the government the right to take MY money to take care of your family?
And the LARGE majority of people signing up on the state websites are signing up for Medicaid, which is no cost to them, but another huge cost to the rest of us, not to mention further swamping the entire ACA program. Sooner or later, SOMEONE has to pay for all of this. As someone recently said, "If you think healthcare is too expensive, wait until it's free."
