You do realize, I'm sure, that this same alarm was for Global Cooling a mere 40 years ago.
Here's one, but there are MANY more: " The UN’s climate change chief, Rajendra Pachauri, has acknowledged a 17-year pause in global temperature rises, confirmed recently by Britain’s Met Office "
I apologize for being all over the map, but just in my last link, there are 3,270,000 responses. I admit to only reading the ones that catch my eye.
And now they are talking about selling Hostess (Twinkies, Ho-Ho's, etc.) early next year approximately quadrupling their $410 million dollar investment in less than a year.
I LOVE IT!!! j.wolf might benefit from reading "Seeds of Fire: China And The Story Behind The Attack On America" by Gordon Thomas.
Sorry, I tried posting to you 3 different times, but Yahoo deleted every post. I was merely trying to suggest you google.....IPCC admits no global warming..... Like I told endeo in a previous post, there is a lot of very interesting info that may help to open your eyes a wee bit to your idea of "Settled Science."
That was obviously "tongue in cheek". If you are serious about getting more information on the subject, try googling ...... IPCC admits no global warming ..... It may just open your eyes a bit.
Here's a good start:
The climate sure changed here today. 70 degrees yesterday and snow today. That's all the proof I need.
Once again you are exposing your extreme stupidity to the world. HFT's DON'T move markets. Maybe you should consider learning what you are talking about before you post.
From 14 hours ago:
Right if it drops my value of the shorted shares rise and if HYGS rises then I will probably cover. What is so difficult to underdtand son?
Why bother to even reply to that clown? Put him on IGNORE like most everyone else does.
I totally agree with everything you say (except the depleting part). I have a sizable investment (not to mention a LOT of enthusiasm) in HYGS and really look forward to seeing their technologies advance. However, fossil fuels are going to be with us for quite some time for both fuel and the myriad of derivative products. GLTA
I'm no expert and certainly have no interest in debating this issue, but the earth has not been warming for the last 16 years or so. That is why it is now "Climate Change" and no longer "Global Warming." As to why?..........One simple answer is MONEY. Huge, gigantic, astronomical sums of it. Look at Al Gore as a minor example. I believe the major money is through Carbon Exchanges. These people claim that they are trying to save the planet, yet it seems as though you're free to pollute as much as you want as long as you purchase Carbon Credits. How do these help save the Earth? I've read that Al Gore's private residence uses enough electricity to power MANY normal homes. These people travel the globe in private jets and limousines while preaching that we should ride bikes to leave a smaller carbon footprint. I'm not buying it.
I appreciate and applaud your efforts. I have a personal indirect experience with your thesis: funding. My nephew has a PhD in meteorolgy with an emphasis on how weather affects human health. He personally doesn't have a dog in this fight, but one of his colleagues is adamantly opposed to the Climate Change crowd and has learned through years of experience that the more vocal his opposition, the fewer dollars he receives in research grants. As you can imagine, his is not a popular stance within the academia field, yet his own moral compass directs the majority of his efforts. This is a well known scientist in his field and he has many supporters although most are much less vocal.
Just think back on all the advice we've received from "Leading Experts" in their fields over the last 10 years or so. Salt became taboo in our diets because it was said to lead to high blood pressure. Then they learned that people were becoming sick from a lack of salt in their diets. Then "BINGO", salt is safe. It's happened with butter, coffee and several other things I can't think of right now because I've trained myself to tune out the "Experts' " warnings. Although I just saw on the news the other day that the "Experts" are now saying that they were wrong about milk. It is now considered a wonder drug.
Maybe I've just become too skeptical over the years, but I have found that good old common sense seems to work better for me than listening to strangers tell me what is good for me.
