Dear vkncaa-got the answers thanks. and thanks for guidance and back test idea

  • Nice to see incremental progress down- stock appears firmly in manipulators' hands, still.

    to find FAET 1Q'14
    google TTB.Gov.Statistics&Data
    click TTB/Statistics/reports and data-TTB.gov
    see Tax Reports
    click Tax Collections All

questions questions: but first thanks for regression tips. dramatically understated quantifies to ? the back test showed what range of r value? would a series of actual to calculated adjustments made it work you think?

also: Department of Treasury, Firearms & Ammunition Excise Tax Unit,# 8002, Federal Office Bldg., 550 Main St., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202 1-800-390 2282 1-513-684-3817 may prove useful.

Dear vkncaa-yes indeed it includes ammunition and I could use a link to a weapons only report.
I'll try an end run around misalignments.
Quarter 1 analysis: 2011-$94,726, 2012-115064,2013-171569, 2014 calc.-260123,vs actual 192061 suggests a .94 adjustment is needed. (calc. means calculated as a linear regression line from 2011-2013 inclusive)
    Quarter 2: 2011-$91573,135868,206910, 2014 calc.-260123, adjusted to 245036.
    Quarter 3: 2011-$105673,150425,226,144, 2014 calc.-282007, adjusted to 265651
    Quarter 4: 2011-$113265, 158214,216392, 2014 calc.-265753, adjusted to 250339
    (all the above in 000's)

    Total 2013 = $821,015
Total 2014 = 953,087 projected from Q1 actual and the 3 calculated successive Q's, a 16% growth yr. over yr.

  • FAET RESULTS AND LINEAR REGRESSION ANALYSIS (in thousands)

    Quarter.....Year......Year......Year............Calculated....Coefficient...Actual....Actual/Calculated....Adj. Calculated
    ................2011......2012........2013...........................................................................................................
    1st..........$94,726..$115,064..$171,569...$203,965......r =..90's.......$192061.......94.2%...............$192,061
    2d.............91,573...135,868....206,910.....260,123.........".............................................................245,036
    3d............105,673...150,425...226,124.....282,007.........."............................................................265,651
    4th...........113,265,,.158,214...216,392.....265,753.........."............................................................250,339

I'd like to see if the $245,036 materializes. Why the highly correlated r's show up puzzles me but I vaguely feel it's related to production constraints.

Dear captain-yes you're right we need a workable manufactured weapon. Between government and weapons manufacturers an elite engineering team and fairly agreed financiing could produce the manufactured weapon.

Dear captain-thanks for identifying the additive dynamic of id guns. The discussion needs quantification. If the id safety device adds .02 uncertainty to ..02 mfg defect uncertainty we get a .96 reliability vs a .98 one. And then we turn to comparable experience in one given state before and after id experience as poster parent-for-smart-laws wrote. Possessed of just a few numbers we could even project the potential lives saved and lost.

  • Dear captain-you raise a challenging question as to reliability. To start the analysis I suggest we examine the industry-wide % of defective weapons manufactured. I wonder what quality control percentage triggers a production halt and a full examination.
I'm thinking police departments shunning personal id weapons allows officers to use fellow officers weapons in emergencies.

dear landson and option - you're dealing with a stock subject to price manipulation by a short positioned hedge fund. Historically, no breakout for 2 yrs. plus though the horizon for it has been scanned by about a dozen posters

  • After Captain and Likesy the best dialogue on Yahoo's boards. vkncaa, the 5Q excise tax series was predictive for Q6 using a 5 period linear regression; but the r value was low in the 30's.
Fifer would sing a far sweeter song if he gently took up the California challenge -there's a dozen states lined up to follow suit. I think the phrase is "...a decent respect for the opinions of mankind..." It applies to the distributors rgr serves and of course to legislators who serve us.

Dear ferdinandoc-I think you've received some nice answers if this were a stock with a 4.5% short position. But it's got a 27% one. It's got an unfathomable price history since March 2012. It's probably being manipulated by a short-positioned hedge fund
