    What is wrong?

dip,you pose a question to which the answer is "nothing is wrong" except the negative spin from investors and shareholders!! Forget all the"short term" thinking and focus on the "end game"! Yes the progress is slower than anticipated or hoped for but this is ground breaking science and if there were easy answers companies like this would not exist!

May be a common name in China but NOT at Oppenheimer!! The "bleat" is economic with the truth as well as biased!!

  • gilliesman2002 gilliesman2002 Apr 21, 2015 11:14 AM Flag

You are better informed than me...didn't realise Ms Wang was with Oppenheimer....are you sure?

I know you continue to bleat on endlessly and have been hurt badly in the past by this company but perhaps you could inform us who the analyst was, when he/she targeted $14 (and was this before 16% dilution) and where we can find the evidence?Responding to your unjustified criticisms would be monotonous but on occasions it would be enlightening to have evidence to support your comments rather than biased subjectivity!

Hi suej ....updated presentation but nothing new which prompts me to ask why Anat appeared at the Jefferies Conference! Conveying the same old messages isn't going to impress anyone and until there is something more substantive to report I'm afraid we are in the "doldrums"!Perhaps this is the kind of share that needs to be tucked away in a bottom drawer for a couple of years and forgotten about . During that time it will be worth much more or very little but at least it will not be there to taunt or tantalise us on a regular basis!!

It's not the good news that is driving the price of this stock but the propensity for bad/disappointing news! No one can be surprised at this; the company have a history of being economic with the truth and keeping any "commercial" news, likely to reflect adversely on the price, under wraps or buried! Some of this is sensible and in the interests of stockholders in particular but until the management start being more honest and open this reputation will hang over the stock.Perhaps I am being too sensitive, impatient or nervous but the lack of news /updates on existing or new collaborations is foundation/justification for these thoughts.I look favourably on all the investment in facilities and people and tell myself that if progress on all fronts was not positive this would not be prudent.Perhaps the next conference call will enlighten us but as always being invested in CGEN is not for the faint hearted and will always be somewhat of a conundrum!

Agreed sbh...was it Anat who stated that they had "re-discovered" PD-1 target during their research/computer runs. I still wait with some concern the next update/progress report from Bayer on the first molecule and indeed what, if any research/investigation, has been followed through on the second molecule about which we have heard nothing

In the past I have stated that Cgen was a company that "flattered to deceive" This was not deliberate deception as they, at the time, genuinely believed they had something to shout about. The company's focus on immunotherapy and their recent discoveries has changed all that and they seem much more circumspect than before, if not secretive,in order to protect their discoveries/patents. I still remain somewhat suspicious/concerned regarding the Bayer collaboration and will remain so until proven otherwise....they have a history, as all of us recognise, of keeping the bad news buried! The recent appointment and the SAB do give confidence that something is bubbling below the surface and as all we "old timers" have stated in the past we remain quietly confident albeit not committing our life savings to the cause.

We have just had Chinese New year and as most know, this is the year of the Sheep. The sign of the sheep produces a person who takes comfort in repetition and invariably they have few close friends. They often experience low self esteem and enjoy "schadenfreude"at the expense of others! If "the shoe fits" comes to mind and the frequency of one's postings seems to make this ring true.

The analysis carried out by Cramer and his team seems to work on the principle that all organisations are the same and that in assessing their investment potential the criteria/measurements used apply to all.No account seems to be made of where the company is in its evolution, the niche sector in which it operates, the progress it has made relative to it's peers, the quality of its research and the excellence of it's management! Not all companies can be "tarred with the same brush" and there needs to be more than just srtandard superficial statistical analysis to convince investors to invest or not.Let's not forget that Cramer operates in the world of "media"and is only interested in what makes good viewing rather than what makes good sense in the long run!

    Earnings/Conference Call Feb. 10.

Hi suej et gives no joy or satisfaction to see the price being mauled and I can understand some of the reasons being put forward to justify the decline.I believe however there is something more fundamental going on and particularly with our collaboration with Bayer. After the last CC I posted that I had detected a degree of irritation in Martin's comments when Bayer was mentioned and since we have heard nothing subsequently makes my antennae twitch. All will be revealed Tuesday and I may be wide of the mark and hope I have misjudged the wishes.

With reluctance I agree and with great sadness I have divested myself during today of the remaining stock I held in Compugen. In over a decade I have doubled my investment but had I sold earlier would have made considerably more!Today we have seen trades well in excess of 10k which I have interpreted as knowledgeable sales (dare I suggest with inside knowledge) and if there is "bad news" in the offing then Martin and the board will have destroyed any remaining trust in their dealings! I may ofcourse be wrong and regret my decision but i will sleep more soundly and perhaps in the future may reinvest. I wish all loyal and long suffering shareholders my best wishes and will continue to watch from the sidelines.

This message is even more pertinent today than a week ago or am I being paranoid?
