There were comments on Papermaster's retention bonuses, which I do not understand.
His former position was taken over by others and AMD had to give him retention bonus for that or something like that? What does it mean?
don't bet too much on it. usability of VR always has been limited because it has been difficult for users to use it for an extended time. i am skeptical if they have solved it. it is probably as good as 3D TV.
I have been using developer's version and it is indeed much better but is it enough to make people(particularly business) upgrade their system ?
x86 license, anti-trust, national security and so on.
I am pretty sure they are contemplating a spin-off. They need some surgeries but certainly viable.
I meant to invest in natural gas but FCG seems to be affected more by crude oil routs.
it's too early to evaluate her contribution. she had to clear up a few failed ventures of AMD, writing down losses. we'll see how it goes. i think she is betting on windows 10, IMHO.
Not at the moment. They have saved plenty of cash and negotiated very favorable terms with their creditors.
If they make a few hits within a few years, they will survive. Nobody knows for the long term though.
I agree. One misjudgement after another.
Then again look at the x86 industry. Microsoft, Intel. etc... they are all in dis-array.
They have no clue on what to do with this disruptions from companies like google and apple
Not likely. They are already cut to the bone with minimum fresh. They might amputate/sell off some departments but layoffs are not likely, IMHO.
