I am OK with it. I sold some covered calls at $36 so I would prefer T stay below that for now. Plus, Dividend Reinvestment on Nov 1 so no need to have the stock price up too much right now.
I sold some Nov 18 $45 covered calls. While I don't mind the stock price going up, I would prefer it not go up too much right now. I like re-investing the dividends and selling covered calls.
Yeah but as a long time Etrade customer this is horrible that they just drop the card and with just 3 days notice. It is the only platinum card I have because I use it the most. Now I got have to get another card so that i will have a backup. Oh and of course I am currently traveling overseas and this card will not work before I get back! WIll be quite a problem if I have to make any ticket changes. Etrade is just going to push me to Schwaub I guess. I have over $600K with Etrade.
Well, I am pretty sure my October 19 covered call at 25 won't be exercised.
I just got a voice mail saying etrade is ending their credit card program effective November 15. That is only 30 day notice. Really a pain because i am traveling on that card and am overseas at the moment. So 15 years I have been with Etrade. Loved the one stop banking, checking, brokerage, IRA accounts and credit card with the cash back. Now people will have to re-do recurring payments if they have any set up. Etrade's credit card was my largest limit card and my primary credit card. They just got less attractive to me as a banking institution.
Two articles on ARR, one for and one against. I am not sure if the Fool is just trying to present both sides or to just stir up interest.

3 Reasons Janet Yellen Could Be Mortgage REITs' New Best Friend
Sure, ATT wants landlines to go. But the reason has nothing to do with engineering or bandwidth. The reason is there are many current laws and regulations that only apply to the land lines. If they go, then the wireless carriers have a much more open playing field. Of course, some people may argue what a land line is. Most of the wireless traffic does at some point go through land lines to the major switching hubs, terrestrial to satellite uplink stations, and probably to the NSA and other snooping agencies.
Hehe. I am not complaining but the price went up because i sold some covered calls at $36. I don't really care if the stock gets there in the next month and i have to sell. This is in my IRA and I will just buy it back on a dip.
lots of issues though. networking and cloud stuff is fine, and the internet protocols are pretty good, but bandwith, reliability, security, malicious attacks etc. The real world is a lot different than laboratory networking.
I think it is great. I got a few chances to add some shares on the dip. I get 5% dividend. And I continually sell covered calls. Between my dividends and the covered calls I am getting almost a 8-9% return and I am not even counting on any capital gains.
Of course T just jumped in price. I just sold some covered calls at 36 thinking it is unlikely to get that high in the next month. No big deal if it does. I learned my lesson on covered calls to use just my IRA accounts since there is no sale/loss paperwork to track, or taxes to pay if it gets called out.
Since Qualified Dividends are only taxed at 15%, I would not hesitate to have this in my regular brokerage account. I have it in my Regular brokerage account and one of my IRAs. It all depends on what money and types of investments you have across the board.
I was expecting my BP dividends on Sep 20. I use Etrade. However, I also see some stuff about a Sep 25 actual pay out date. What's up? Is there some extra delay with this ADR? Anybody gotten their divvies yet?
