An hour after the federal government began shutting down, House Republicans approved a last-ditch effort early Tuesday seeking to set up a committee with the Senate to resolve their monumental differences over Obamacare.
The House passed the measure seeking a conference committee, 228 to 199. But even before the vote, Democratic leaders promised to swiftly reject the offer when the Senate met later Tuesday morning. No compromise could be reached on Sunday as the Democrats in Congress took the day off.
This is why we need to persuade the Senate to pass a budget. (The House passed hundreds of them and Senate either voted down or refused to vote on it)
Here's the article from CNSnews about the Obama's wasteful spending of money we don't have:
-The Labor Department’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs plans to award up to $1 million in taxpayer dollars to increase gender equality at work in Morocco.
The purpose of the grant is “to help build the capacity of civil society organizations, including non-governmental organizations and trade unions, in the Kingdom of Morocco to address working women's issues and empower women to more fully exercise their labor rights.”
I'm involved with moveon org which is regarded as a far left organization. Much of what obama has done appauls me. Philadelphia voting machines had started voting for Obama before the poll doors opened to the public.
And then he goes on another taxpayer finded vacation costing tens of millions of dollars. This is all debt money with interest to pay back. Obama the $17 trillion national debt man!
I'm only talking about hardware and software technology degrees. Their other degree programs might actually be legit. Congrats to you on your new position. Hope you enjoy your new career.
A technology degree is for electrical and software beta testers. Graduates find out this harsh reality after paying a premium price for a 4 year bachelor degree and find they're only qualified to be technicians. Technology degree are worthless and many employers specifically state they want real degrees on their job boards, and the fake degrees like DeVry oiffers need not apply.
The job postings of many companies require a degrees at a college with accreditation by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc (ABET) The DeVry degrees have no value after you spend years of your life and tens of thousands of dollars. Get a real degree from a real college
From what I've seen at ITT and DeVry, why not go to a real college. If you're going to invest the money and time, come out with a degree that is accepted everywhere. What the heck is a technology degree? ITT is not an accreditted college in the eyes of human resources of the wide majority of companies and I doubt DeVry has adequate accredidation either.
I went to the Devry website devryengineeringdegree.org. It showed a list of skills but "medical instrumentation" and "biomedical instrumentation" does not tell me a heck of a lot about the skills related to these.
Your site did not say what kind of positions your graduates would be qualified for.
I wanted to know the details about what DeVry meant by a "Engineering Technology" degree.
I filled out my contact information on the right to get started. Instead of being taken to a screen would let me ask my questions, I get the following:
"Thank you For your Interest in DeVry University
A DeVry representative will contact you soon to answer any questions you may have about the advantages of a DeVry education."
If you were going to give my information to some sales rep, at least ask for for my permission to contact me. You do not have permission to call me. I received nothing in my email.
Due to DeVry's lack of customer skills, I have decided to continue looking for a college.
Five-year-old Sida Osman went missing from the Weber Garden Apartments Tuesday evening. According to Fort Worth officials, while speaking with detectives several people kept referring to the same 13-year-old African American male. After further investigation, Fort Worth police say they learned Sida and the 13-year-old suspect were seen together going into the backyard of the house on Lois.
Police believe at some point the 13-year-old became irritated with Sida and hit the little boy in the head several times, killing him.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Donte McGill.
McGill is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Lorain Police for domestic violence for allegedly attacking his live-in girlfriend after an argument ensued over some Facebook posts.
McGill beat the victim for 45 minutes, then left the residence to go to the store and the victim was able to call the police for help.
Subsequently, the victim was hospitalized for four days as a result of the vicious beating. U.S. Marshals say McGill fled the area down to Kentucky after the warrant was issued.
It is now believed that McGill is back in the area.
McGill, 28, is black, stands 6 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 300 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
McGill is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Lorain or Elyria, Ohio area.
The National Security Agency has acknowledged in a new classified briefing that it does not need court authorization to listen to domestic phone calls.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat, disclosed this week that during a secret briefing to members of Congress, he was told that the contents of a phone call could be accessed "simply based on an analyst deciding that."
If the NSA wants "to listen to the phone," an analyst's decision is suffici ent, without any other legal authorization required, Nadler said he learned. "I was rather startled," said Nadler, an attorney and congressman who serves on the House Judiciary committee.
Not only does this disclosure shed more light on how the NSA's formidable eavesdropping apparatus works domestically, it also suggests the Justice Department has secretly interpreted federal surveillance law to permit thousands of low-ranking analysts to eavesdrop on phone calls.
Because the same legal standards that apply to phone calls also apply to e-mail messages, text messages, and instant messages, Nadler's disclosure indicates the NSA analysts could also access the contents of Internet communications without going before a court and seeking approval.
The disclosure appears to confirm some of the allegations made by Edward Snowden, a former NSA infrastructure analyst who leaked classified documents to the Guardian. Snowden said in a video interview that, while not all NSA analysts had this ability, he could from Hawaii "wiretap anyone from you or your accountant to a federal judge to even the president."
Biggest scandal uncovered in the history of the United States dwarfing the recenbt Benghazi, IRS targeting Tea Party, and giovernment phonetapping news reporters scandal. AOL now one of the defendeants in a $20 billion lawsuit
Yahoo share prices falling since NSA spying scandal was revealed. Now with Yahoo getting sued I expect it to slide towards $20 and maybe less.
