One share of GAS sold @ $66.00 will buy you two shares of AT&T (T). One share of GAS pays $2.04/yr. Two shares of T pays $3.76/yr. and in 2016 two shares of T will pay $3.84/yr.
I'm not waiting until 2016. I sold GAS today @ $61.80/sh. (I paid $7.00 to Scottrade and $1.19 to the SEC).
I will be buying more T when these funds settle in three days
(again costing $7.00 to Scottrade and zero to the SEC).
Full disclosure: I have a substantial loss carryover to offset this long term capital gain (thanks to Barney Franks' wonderful oversight on toxic loan bundling through Fannie Mae, and the meltdown which followed!)
