Only 3 cents eps. You may be able to buy back those shares sooner than you thought.

    What I Would Expect Tomorrow

Hi Marlin. I agree with your predictions. As you know, the return to profitability has come from "operational efficiencies". If this new growth strategy entails more headcount (20 new heads I recall from the SA Biz J article), there goes the profitability unless there is a corresponding increase in revenues. The return to profitability has largely fueled the price increase. Management needs to focus on their new channel strategy; but do so in a measured approach. Otherwise, the PPS may be adversely impacted.

I agree. The stock is not acting "healthy". Not a good sign when you close at or near the lows of the day; especially yesterday.

Yep. Our friends in Malta bailed. What is odd is the date they listed that necessitated the filing (13G A) was December 17, and here we are in February. I am guessing this was a mistake since these filings must be more timely. They filed the original 13G within days of accumulating a 5% stake back in July. They did not seem like your typical investors. Perhaps they wanted to influence the board to take some sort of strategic direction and they did not see eye to eye. Well, they have another 168K to sell unless they already did so today.

Magnum: I would have your friend contact their Bloomberg rep. My guess is the IIRA screen is an additional entitlement they do not pay for. Bloomberg nickels and dimes for everything.

Confirming you used a licensed terminal ($1500 per month) to access the IIRA screen (indications of interest) Bring up GSB then select the equity button then type in IIRA. It worked for me.

Anyone else notice Direct Edge (EDGX) kept popping up on the bid. They "went back to the well" again and again as their orders got filled. I do know some institutions have been shopping for GSB based upon recent indications of interest. If you have access to a Bloomberg terminal, enter GSB IIRA .You may recall that I posted about a larger buyer a few months ago. They are back.

whats the chances GSB could be acquired?

The company has a broad product portfolio which does make GSB an attractive takeover target. A larger company could more quickly scale their products but GSB may just be able to do a good as job with their new sales strategy. Either way, the stock is going higher.

The company is going to end 2013 with record revenues and profits. The stock is finally catching up, and despite the run, still has a modest PE has Greg pointed out. The company is in the sweet spot of data security and also has a mobile offering. The way the chart looks, this could run to $7 coupled with the heavy accumulation, some of which is big money.

I would not read much in the increase in shares available to short. Firms are making them available because it is a money maker for them. The lending business is very profitable.

Nice find Magnum. I have been following the company/gsb execs on Twitter and LinkedIn and there are some impressive associations as of late. The writing was on the wall with Ingram Micro. What other firms are in the wing. With such a small revenue base, it will take not too many large deals for the bottom line to explode (and the stock).

Harry Boxer's Charts of the Day

Institutions have been steadily accumulating for months now ( alot of block trades). I'll have more definitive information in about 2 weeks. The "weak hands" are out. Day traders have distorted the volume but you don't get rich making a few bucks here or there. Goulet is making some real progess and an uptick in revenues will also bring higher operating margins, and thus more profits. The stock is trading at a modest PE of 13. The chart looks awesome. The company has paid special cash dividends two years in a row now. Bottom line, a lot of positives. There is no place else I want to be with the turnaround in full swing. BTW Greg: I am sure you have noticed the increase in sales traffic on their website. It looks like a double in the past few months (I can't say what percent of their revenues is from the web - but it must be material since Buie was shown the door not managing it) . This coincides with a much improved SEO strategy.

WAFS market 4.4B -IBM acquires Aspera

Not that I am advocating a sale of GSB (then again, never say never...) but GSB should receive a higher premium than Aspera given the broad product portfolio.

Goulet is really revamping sales/marketing org structure and processes:

Globalscape is seeking a Demand Generation Manager to lead all Demand and Lead Generation campaigns with a focus on crafting key Demand Generation programs, executing, tracking and reporting on the results of the program, and then repeating in order to generate incremental pipeline for existing and new products. To be successful, candidate must be highly creative, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating and driving consensus cross-functionally and interacting with Executive Leadership. Candidate must be self-motivated and focused on feeding qualified leads to Sales via a robust, sustainable Demand Generation engine that provides measurable improvement in repeatable and effective marketing activities and events.

Now that the block seller is gone ( he must regret selling), and we have such a small float ( 9 million shares), it shows how quickly this stock can rip higher. I expect we will break through $3 tomorrow. If we do, a monster rally could be in store.

12 multiple even better. Looking for a decent Q4 so the multiple may even come down.

  • go_big_or_gohome by go_big_or_gohome Jan 21, 2014 10:03 AM Flag

Even with recent move higher, we are still only trading at a 15 multiple.

  • GSB mentioned throughout in an article dated 1/20/14 on healthitsecurity.xxx.

Karl Skoog, Development Manager at PeaceHealth who takes care of interface work, Web development, data extracts and secure file transfer within the organization, explained that Globalscape had all the security protocols that PeaceHealth needed. We had identified protocols that we had requests for previously and made sure that those were met by Globalscape. But making the balance between security and usability was important as well.

We have a configuration in place where we have a server in the DMZ that communicates and interfaces with the Globalscape server internally. So there’s an extra layer of security that we have in place just with the hardware server configuration.

Any new project that gets approved that has a file-sharing component of transferring data into or out of the PeaceHealth Network utilizes Globalscape, said Scoog. It also uses it in its reference lab because there are some lab clients that may have a smaller EMR system that don’t have HL7 interfaces and are file-based, they expect PeaceHealth to securely drop a file of lab results. “We use Globalscape to securely drop those lab results to the external clients,” Scoog said.
