This is the reason that shares touched over 21 a share yesterday.

Jody LaNasa, founder of $1.6 billion hedge-fund firm Serengeti Asset Management LP, recommended buying shares of KODK. Saying the shares are worth 59 a share.

You are aware that they still do have a holding in the kodak?

They still own about 70 million worth of shares and warrants. Ever think they just took some off the table and let the profits run. As of 2-3 months ago Eastman Kodak made up 20% of their 320 million dollar portfolio. And it is STILL their largest holding in any single company.

Just letting you know what I found

kid- where you see any holder selling into this price range??

We were moving down on almost no volume. This sell-off if due to the opening of restricted shares. That in addition to a 8% market sell-off sent the stock lower. Smart money was buying shares for and easy 50% move to the upside (I think we are moving at least for a double in the next year).

Personally bought over 14,000 warrants when shares were trading under 21 a share.

Hadrian- selling volume from 25 down to where we are not has been very low, except for the last 3 days. Under 19 there has been a whole lot of buying. The volume is turning and I expect that we will see a sharp move up in the next couple day. Look for volume over 100k today with price moving above 18.50.

Kodak to spin off certain tech...

Today a much smaller company, Kodak is looking at new ways of turning those mountains of unused patents into business, CEO Jeff Clarke said Wednesday.

"There are a lot of breakthroughs that can be spun off," he said as he stood in George Eastman House's Dryden Theatre, surrounded by dozens of Kodak scientists for the company's annual Distinguished Inventors Celebration.

Instead of focusing solely on discoveries that could lead to Kodak-branded billion-dollar products, the company will look to the venture capital universe — trading technology for a stake in other companies — or to original equipment manufacturers that would use Kodak technology inside its own products, said Clarke, who started as CEO in March.

Clarke in August announced a new business group, Kodak Technology Solutions, aimed at better commercializing its intellectual property.

While Kodak is focused on a set of printing-related businesses, its patent portfolio has potential uses well outside that, Clarke said Wednesday. "There are health care opportunities, consumer opportunities. ..."

Hadrian- would not be in a hurry to sell at these prices, I am however interested in buying at these prices. Any half decent news would send the stock price over 30 again. But good luck to you no matter what you do.

Large volume moved through today and I saw 2 orders of over 70,000 shares go through and not break the share price. We have seen a long term bottom here, but good luck whatever you decide to do. I hope you ended up making a few dollars in this deal.

For those that are wondering why the shares have fell off a cliff the last couple months the answer is simple... The lockup period for the people that had under the 4(2) agreement shares were unlocked in the beginning of September (shares were issued Sep 2013). In addition to the the shares started to go down in anticipation to this information.

Personally I have doubled down under 20 a share with the warrants. We should see a sharp increase in share price when A) the market stops crashing B) All the weak hands that have been forced to hold on for the last year are shaken out.

    Senior bonds/debt

I still like kodak as a long term play... they are a small cap company (currently trading under 1 billion MC) and they have way to many assets (including about $18 a share in cash).

I can see spin-off happening in the near future and RE sales that will make their numbers look much better. Actually I have used this downward drop only to buy shares (actually I have been buying warrants that have another 4 years left on them).

The only reason that the shares have traded this low is because of the 1 year restriction being lifted the first week of September.

Does anyone here have an opinion on the senior bonds that are currently trading at .20 cents on the dollar.

I just got unlocked with the shares that I ended up with during the kodak BK and still have a bad taste in my mouth from the whole deal over there (ended up making a little money but not half as much as I should have).

At this point in time I think it would be ill advised to invest in the shares, but I do think that the senior bonds should get paid, at least, 50 cents on the dollar on their debt.

    Any opinions?

Yup im still holding, not going to sell any time soon. Valuation still does not make sense and should be (at least) 3 billion for the company. I would not be looking for the exits until we get there.

Actually if you have the money I would throw a few dollars behind the jan 15 $25 calls... should (at least) triple from here.
