Hope you both had a great weekend and mine would have been but for a major loss in college football to BC.
Boy those guys out played us. Big....fast....very well coached. Wouldn't be surprised to see them go 10-2 even in the ACC. Class act school too. Almost went there...LOL! 15k shares of BLUE from $34.75 says I think this name will be one of the biggest bio winners in the last decade. Been wrong before but...... LOL! GLTALs...
Not a big deal folks... This will pass by at least 85%, and possibly higher...
They've been using the drug in Europe now for years with a decent safety profile, which seems to speak best as to how safe and effective the drug is.
I've listened to three or four ADCOM panel meetings and each were with antibiotic companies. You would have thought their antibiotics caused cancer and could harm PG women and their unborn children. Vote was 12-0 to approve on all of them, with minimal label restrictions.
Thanks Mensa for helping to clearly explain the reasons for the "disappointing" pictures that were posted at the R&R conference yesterday.
It never ceases to amaze me how just "stupid" ultra bright people can be at times. That is why so many larger companies are run by corporate types who understand the investment community and profit motives in a public company, and relegate the scientific gurus to the labs in the back of the building, and give them titles like "Chief Technical Officer" etc,
Showing anything where "salt water" works as well as your billion dollar drug, even for a short time, is simply
D U M B ! And you don't need a mensa cert. to know that either....lol!
You lead with your best drug and the best indication for a specific use to garner results, and ultimately approval. There is no drug to treat scarring?. Did anyone here ask why that is? Maybe none has ever worked very well. There are OTC creams to help scarring. How do those creams compare with our drug approach?
I guess time will tell but we're now starting from a PR nightmare and pictures that basically lead any reasonable person to conclude....why bother?
Today was handled by a bunch of rank amateurs standing up before the world with nothing to show and tell.
Will take a year now to see this stock over $3.50. Maybe in six more months the difference in results will actually show we have something to sell. Until then folks it's going to be a long cold winter for us shareholders.
Thanks rmsacc....This one really hurts today let me tell you. I had all the faith in the world that the scarring results would not only be good, but outstanding. At least a 60% improvement versus placebo. Not sure where we go from here now, but maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
Why the CEO wanted to get in front of the whole world to present the scarring data results that he did??
Just doesn't make sense. What did he think the market reaction would be? Did he mention there might be a dosage issue, or a duration of usuage issue? Very perplexing.
Don't need the CEO to comment on the results. You can see them yourselves. Cohort 1 and early treatment plainly did not work. Placebo looked much better. Cohort 2 was better, with a flatter scar than placebo, but not hugely different IMHO.
I'm very disappointed frankly. Was hoping for more.....
I'm sorry but I missed this hole mess this morning...
1. Why is the stock down 38%...Was the scarring data just "ok"..."bad" or "good"?
All I know is if the guy picked R&R to announce before the whole world a so so, or failed, surgical scarring trial, he should be put in a nut house and the key thrown away....lol!
Sorry rocksoutdaily...You are indeed correct as I was looking at an earlier purchase in my account
that did average $22.71 but the 5k I bought Friday averaged 22.96... Look for 5k more from me today that started around 22.87 then in small lots all the way up to 23.18, and averaged 23.11.
Now have 15k right around 23.
Was hoping for a stronger close going into the presentation, but the market was down and probably people taking their profits off the table in advance of what is really a make or break event. Can't blame those who bought at $2.50 fairly recently...
For goodness sakes folks... A 5 billion dollar plus market cap for ALNY makes us took like the steal of the century. Don't worry about the others in our field.... Just hope the company takes care of business, and everything else will take care of itself! We will know tomorrow.
Actually "Paul" the saying is...."bulls make money...bears make money...but pigs get slaughtered"...
I don't suggest anything to anyone on a message board. Certainly would be rather presumptive of me
to do so. But when you make an investment in anything highly speculative and if you're right you really
don't make any money doing it, why take the gamble? Just so you can tell your golfing buddies that you bought a stock at $3.50 that went to $6 in the same week, and they think you're a big stock guru? And if it goes to $1 you simply forget about it and move on?
You don't just "follow a company"...You should try and learn about it from the scientific fundamentals up to management. If after that you still don't feel comfortable enough to make a decent investment I'd skip it.
You know the "perils" of biotech investing like we all do, but do you know the rewards of a stock going up 500-600%? I do. Can set you for life if you're lucky.
I think the mutual fund advice was spot on.
Starting position? Dumb IMHO. If the trials fail you'll lose 50% of your investment. If they succeed the stock goes to $5-$6 and then what will you do? Add big? Doubt that. It's against human nature. You'll just look back the next few years and see what coulda, shoulda been. That's why the small investor that we all hear about on the news remains a "small investor". No guts, due diligence, or intellect in their investment thesis to begin with. Just throwing some change at a hard eight and hoping that somebody else did their homework for them.
AF unfortunately has been right too many times to totally discount his posts. FDA breifing docs are historically negative, and if you read most of them, you'd be selling your stock in most companies coming
before an ADCOM in a nano second.
This situation right now is a bit disconcerning as the company should be putting out a total disclaimer
on what was reported via Twitter. That is unless some, or all of it, is indeed true. It is a very strange situation to say the least, especially the claim that a PR rep wanted to discuss the matter with AF in advance of the briefing docs being released to the public. Anybody who follows AF knows this is precisely the type of stuff he would jump all over, and although we may not like some of the things he posts, or his opinions, the guy IMHO definitely will not sell out to anybody...
