Now you know what your parents likely felt as you grew up..."What a huge failure we have here!"

All I know is if the guy picked R&R to announce before the whole world a so so, or failed, surgical scarring trial, he should be put in a nut house and the key thrown!

Clarity on why this gets overturned by the SC...

You and the other clueless Wikipedia lawyers here just don't comprendo do you?
If we a take 100% of what you just said, and wrote TRUE next to each sentence, Siga still loses the appeal.
It was up to Siga's EXPERT to refute the testimony of PIP's EXPERT on the issue of resonable projected courses of sales, and the cost per course. Siga's expert(s) didn't even bother to do that. So as a matter of
fact, PIP's expert testimony was accepted over Siga's on those issues.

You don't get an extra swing at the pitch five years later in 20-20 hindsight. It's three strikes and you're out. The time to refute expert testimony is at the time of the trial itself, not four years later It's a moot point now.

Aren't you one of the latest and greatest Siga legal analysts and cheerleaders? Did you foresee a BK filing?
Ugh No. Did I. Ugh yes. So your opinion is worth what? My guess a lot less than what this stock will be trading at in about three more!

    My Take

Thanks Mensa for helping to clearly explain the reasons for the "disappointing" pictures that were posted at the R&R conference yesterday.

It never ceases to amaze me how just "stupid" ultra bright people can be at times. That is why so many larger companies are run by corporate types who understand the investment community and profit motives in a public company, and relegate the scientific gurus to the labs in the back of the building, and give them titles like "Chief Technical Officer" etc,

Showing anything where "salt water" works as well as your billion dollar drug, even for a short time, is simply
    D U M B ! And you don't need a mensa cert. to know that!

Starting position? Dumb IMHO. If the trials fail you'll lose 50% of your investment. If they succeed the stock goes to $5-$6 and then what will you do? Add big? Doubt that. It's against human nature. You'll just look back the next few years and see what coulda, shoulda been. That's why the small investor that we all hear about on the news remains a "small investor". No guts, due diligence, or intellect in their investment thesis to begin with. Just throwing some change at a hard eight and hoping that somebody else did their homework for them.

SIGA Reveals Basis for Appeals in its BK Filing

    by frwdlook Sep 16, 2014 1:22 PM
    golongin2008 golongin2008 Sep 16, 2014 3:50 PM Flag

Owning Siga has now become a play on a legal appeal...

If the judgment is reversed, in whole, or in major part, the stock will go up.

If the judgment is affirmed, the BK goes forward, and common shareholders are wiped out.

Now THAT is a great investment thesis, is it not?....LOL.....Not.

  • golongin2008 golongin2008 Sep 17, 2014 12:48 PM Flag

Hanna.... "if it works" is always the big question with all of these small cap biotechs. IDRA pulled the same crapola with the Baker Bros. and their ownership, etc. and the stock ran to almost 7. It then #$%$ out on their first trial results, which were also disappointing, and the stock is now $2.50...

RNAi works. ALNY's 5.5 billion dollar market cap attests to that. The issue is if OUR technology works, and if so, on what type of indications? May not be for surgical scarring. Could be in optical uses or conditions.
But you lead out of the box with your best chances for success, so if that doesn't work, and work well, (on surgical scarring in our case), the markets are not likely to give you a second chance.

We need to see dramatic improvement versus placebo in surgical scarring results. Don't care it it takes six months or more to present new data, or pictures, but the next ones better be very significant (ie, a 60% improvment or more to the naked eye v placebo). If not, we could be toast like IDRA for a very long time.

Took me most of the week but bought back in with half the position that I sold earlier
in the year at $16.85. Worth the risk of a secondary anytime it gets under $12 IMHO.
Should be good for a rally back to $16 at a minimum. GLTAL's and hey...Maybe even
a buyout at $18 plus would be nice huh?

Love how they try to hide the money

What money? They're not hiding it anymore I hate to tell you...Just ain't there. BARDA contract is winding down, and when it's done, this company is hasta la vista...The company has been in a wind down to eventual liquidation phase to for well over two years. No on-going foreign other products....and
BARDA is coming to a Phase 1 end. Ebola... is a real concern now, and they blew it. Smallpox? Right. You people are on the Titanic and most of you are standing in the buffet line all by yourselves while the ship is listing 40 degrees...LOL!

  • golongin2008 by golongin2008 Aug 28, 2014 11:29 PM Flag

According to the 10K recently filed, the Phase 2 for patients with surgical scarring was enrolled in July of this year. The follow-up period for those patients was to be nine (9) months, which would take us into April, 2015.
As such, what results are we expecting shortly in September? TIA...

    Question for Board

Gotcha! Much thanks for the detailed response and fingers and toes crossed! GLTALs!!

  • Hanna...Your TA is probably the worst I've every read on any Board. You're simply clueless.
Do you realize this stock has closed from $2.46 to $2.60 every trading day since July 10th?
If it "breaks down" and closes below $2.48 that would be a "big negative". If it closes down
.01 tomorrow we're all screwed? Do you define a loss of one cent from the previous day's close "breaking

Seriously...You need to get some help, and I'm not talking TA either.........Bring "avi" back anytime.
At least he knows he's a nut job. You're simply delusional.

Trades as if $500 mil will be awarded to PIP

    by sigaupsigadown Aug 13, 2014 10:36 AM
    golongin2008 golongin2008 Aug 13, 2014 11:44 AM Flag

I'll say this for the 99th time just like I said Parson's would hand Siga their head in the next ruling (the current one) and was met with cursings....99 thumbs down...."PIP is poop" remarks, and tons of vulgarities from buyhighsellow, and others...

The stock is trading like BK IS DEFINITELY ON THE TABLE....How friggin stupid are most of you folks here anyway?...Seriously. I hope your parents are at least fairly rich, or you married well, cause most of you people are dumb as dirt. This is the Titanic and you're in the buffet line waiting for them to poach your eggs. Except for a few here like Drod...Tween...Play....and some others, this is one of the dumbest group of shareholders I've ever seen on any Board, and that includes quite a few in the last 32 years....Most of your frankly deserve to go down with this ship.

Just ask yourself why PIP isn't trading HIGHER? No...It's not because they feel they will lose any Appeal in the next few years (lol)...It's because all Siga has to once the judgment is prepared and filed with the Court,
is walk down the street to their local Joe Schmoe bankruptcy attorney, file re-org BK, and eventually discharge the current judgment in full. Siga remains an operating stays in the bank...
debts are paid....the contract with BARDA remains in full force....etc. Current common shareholders are bascially wiped out though. Since management owns mostly options, and not common, they don't lose much at all, and then they simply give themselves the same options and shares when the newly re-organized company comes into being.

Great conference call too. Company and analysts were very pleased with the results. Built into the Phase 3 will be superiority analysis as well versus levofloxin which could be gangbusters if we can repeat these results. Lots happening between now and the end of 2014 and 1H2015, including possibly a European partner. Stay tuned!

Here is how the ADCOM works

    by nhanduyvo Sep 12, 2014 2:33 PM
    golongin2008 golongin2008 Sep 12, 2014 2:42 PM Flag

I've listened to three or four ADCOM panel meetings and each were with antibiotic companies. You would have thought their antibiotics caused cancer and could harm PG women and their unborn children. Vote was 12-0 to approve on all of them, with minimal label restrictions.

  • golongin2008 golongin2008 Aug 12, 2014 2:21 PM Flag

Sorry Drod re Siga (and MDWD as well thus far)... It's looking to me like a BK filing might well be in the cards if they can't work something out with PIP. You were a long time loyal shareholder, unlike most of the putz's here now. You deserved better...And quite frankly,so did I.
