When a company issues convertible, the stock acts like ETFs, either PPS goes high when the money is spent in something that produces profit short term or PPS goes down when borrowed money is spent for long term purposes. Obviously, SPPI did not spent it for short term profit. Investors want to see profit and they want it right now but not tomorrow.
Having said that, they are punishing the company because they did not get what they wanted.
In spite of some weaknnesses in SPPI management for handling financials and lack of transparency, there are some bright areas. SPPI is experienced in development and also applying for drug approvals, something that most small biotech companies lack these skills and this is the most reason for them to fail unless they have something that attracts big players. PCYC is a rare case that JNJ knew it and that was the reason for JNJ to invest heavy in PCYC. Also, AVNR was acquired as soon as it showed some promises for its drug in phase III.
If SPPI displays a good result in one of its phase III drugs, like SPI-2012, then its price will double and triple in matter of few weeks if not few days.
After all, SPPI has good scientists and when Raj is pounding the table that the company has two blockbusters in its pipeline, it is not hyping the stock but it is his scientiific senses and facts that he sees. Probably, he is telling those dumb analysts that you do not know anything about this field but looking at recent financial numbers to guide you while you are missing the whole enchilada.
Raj said he interviews every single employee before hiring. This is micromanaging and waste of time of a CEO. What is the purpose besides being insecure and not trusting others. After all! it is human nature to hire relatives and friends or people who are recommended by friends because of some favor.
Raj should be in Japen and China signing deals instead of interviewing a salesman who may leave in just a few months. I hope he is not interviewing cleaning people. Well, he can speak a few Spanish words.
I own both.
GERN market cap is 1.5 times SPPI. SPPI is sitting at low $6 with only 65 m shares.
SPPI has a huge pipeline, mostly in phase II and III, with 2 blockbuster cancer drugs in its pipeline.
SPPI also has 5 approved drugs and another to be approved by Early Q4 this year.
SPPI is positive cash flow and generates over $50 m of rev per quarter.
I still own both but adding more to SPPI since it has more potential than GERN.
Poor Raj, he has done a lot of good work for the company and grew white hair doing so many deals but some unfortunate events have affected the PPS. I mean, look at Sandoz who wants to steal Sulilev in daylight and a dingy judge closed his eyes/brain and opened his mouth to say unlivable stuff. Shame! Shame!
Hey, you do not work on your weekends. Hard working people deserve bunoses and awards. How many times have you driven your BMW to work on weekends while you are still in your pajama and flipper slippers? Some people do.
I am glad to find SPPI. Not only I make a lot of money but also learn a lot about cancers and also other languages like Spanish and Hindi. I hope my wife does not complain again since she was telling me that I have not learned english and I have lost my own language too.
Please ask buyers to hold on to their horses, because I am about to start my buying engine.
So, based on your post, all SPPI needs is SPI-1020 to double or triple. Is there anything that keeps instructions back from buying the stock.
If I see any sign of stock movement, I would like to buy 200k shares. Yes, that is 200,000 shares.
I listened to the CC and I was impressed, especially when CEO spoke in Spanish, just a few words. I want to ask him to speak my language in the next CC, even if it will be a few words. Wasn't he cute when he spoke Spanish with his cute Indian accent.
So if this company has 4 blockbuster drugs in its pipeline then why is it at this price?
There are other companies with no revenue/income trading at $10, $20 even over $100 just because they have one or two promising drugs in their pipeline. What is wrong here? Please help.
