As a middle income head of family, if hydrogen was $0.50 per gallon I am not sure I would buy a forklift to move my wife around the house or not. And she's a big one.

    Why the drop???

mdaceut, the key question is what is driving the recent growth curve. I missed the conference call and it was not archived more than a few days. The last quarter was a step-jump in sales growth. It is possible for MLM sales growth to go exponential, especially from a small sales base like here. I would say the trend is your friend on this one...and this seems like the early innings...until the trend changes and sales growth levels off or sputters.

At $44MM in sales, eps will come in a the high end of your projection.
Time will tell the actual results. Stock price indicates things are going well.

No news, just normal stock market price fluctuation head-fake. Best chart of any stock I follow. Too far off the radar and normal markets to go too big in position size for me.

El Pollo Loco Holdings, Costa Mesa California

El Pollo Loco Responds Strongly to Unfounded Charges of Employee Non-Diversity by Krenaud2010, a White Guy recently Turned Down for Employment for Lack of Skills, Education, Attitude, Aptitude, Motivation and Pigment.

Henny de la'Poultrey, Executive Vice President of Human Resources & Political Correctness, vehemently denied the validity of "The Krenaud Charges" as recently posted on the globally revered Yahoo Message Board platform, at a hastily convened press conference.

"El Pollo Loco has long embraced and actively promoted an employment policy of not only diversifying our employee base across a broad array of ethnic, cultural, national origin, religious, and saxxual orientations but is perhaps the first large company to embrace a diversity of animal and plant species employed to perform all types of business operations and serve our customers. An example of the many "firsts" in diversity employment pioneered at El Pollo Loco include the cappuchin monkeys employed at several units in Southern California to accept payment, make change, and assist in running credit cards for delighted customers. Critics howled before implementation that the cost of that program would be excessive, but it turned out to be peanuts. Well accepted in the back office at Headquarters in Costa Mesa is the one-legged gay Black Rooster which provides Accounting with data entry pretty much around the clock seven days a week at a cost to shareholders approaching chicken-feed (excepting the pending sex-change). Ethno-Species Diversity is not just the right thing to do...it is Good Business!"

President Obama, when de-briefed about "The Krenaud Charges" while on vacation, quickly pulled his briefs back up and returned to Washington DC to address the situation to the American People...but went back on vacation before a press conference could be scheduled.

    Q2 EPS Estimate for Q2 2014

mdaceut, I am a very new investor in NHTC and hope somebody else has the knowledge to offer an opinion on your question. Makes sense to invest in the markets where they are growing the most (HK, Taiwan and China). I missed the chance to hear the earnings conference call, which may have had some useful detail.

I am type 2 diabetic and they have exactly the healthy meal that I need to eat really tasty food that is low glycemic. Not sure you have any clue what that means.

    LOCO vs Boston Market

I like Boston Market food. I LOVE El Pollo Loco chicken and side dishes, plus the salsa bar.

An $8 combo meal with grilled chicken, steamed broccoli, and pinto beans...plus a mixture of salsas is real tasty, nutritious, and low glycemic for those with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome.

    Q2 EPS Estimate for Q2 2014

I certainly hope the overall expectations at in the .30 to .35 area.
For the quarter to be less than 0.40 the operating leverage shown the last 4 quarters would need to stop and go in reverse, or something else odd be reported...imo. Time will tell. Getting off the pink sheets would be a huge help.

    Quarter 6/30/14
    Revenue $34,200
    COGS $7,524
    COGS % 22.0%
    Gross Profit $26,676
    Gross Profit % 78.0%
    SGA $21,546
    SGA % 63.0%
    Net Profit $5,130
    Net Profit % 15.0%
    Share Count 11,520
    EPS $0.445

  • gothzillaman by gothzillaman Jul 25, 2014 12:09 AM Flag

Made a little spreadsheet model for the past 4 quarters to model a projection for Q2 at the stated revenue projection from the press release.
    Got:
    $0.40 EPS low end
    $0.445 projected

If revenue growth continues in the coming quarters then the next 12 months will be north of $2.00 annual EPS. Stock chart is a thing of beauty.

  • ProtoLabs, The "Baddest 3D Printing Company on The Planet" announces a Revolutionary Partnership with PetsMart to eliminate the tedious scheduling and transport of pets to Petsmart for grooming or veterinary care.
"Today's time-pressed pet owner has no time to even acknowledge a household's pet's existence much less the pet's need for veterinary care or grooming requirements" states Schmegal Bosonmeister, the new trial VP of Virtual Pet Processing, the acting officer for an un-named division of his un-named and legally redacted potential employer.

"For the less-discriminating pet owner, we are currently capable of installing a 3D Scanner at client consumer accounts that can more or less scan and transport the Household Pet to PetsMart for grooming or veterinary care. Once more or less received at PetsMart, the Pet can be groomed or be given veterinary care and then re-scanned and transported back to the Loving Family to see if there is any remaining bond whatsoever between the pet and the family. If the family likes the cosmetic grooming or medical care that has been performed on the transmuted canine we then have a commercial invoice and a likely repeat customer.

ProtoLabs and PetsMart are convinced that this new service will resonate with America's New Consumers. Schmegal expounds "Today's homeowner is pretty much fed up with the demands of a job, a spouse that is too tired most nights for you-know-what, incessant weeds and shrubs demanding attention to maintain compliance with the Homeowner's Association's, federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, and fatigue explaining to his liberal friends why he is just tired of working and paying taxes.

"Finally, there is a service for which you can scan your dog, that will produce a reasonably good copy of your dog and will take reasonably good care of the close copy of your dog, and will return a well taken care of the facsimile of the dog you once knew" states a beaming Schmegal Bosonmeister.
