I am maxed out on qcor stock. I have been looking at the qcor LEAPS, Jan 14 @50 to $52.50 to $55 range. Any expert opinions about where the best value is within these particular LEAPS?
    TIA

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • is remains utterly insane for qcor to be selling at these levels. Run the earnings yield -use last 4 Q's so not factoring in any future growth- and is it amazing. No debt, paying a very nice dividend and selling at 10X trailing earnings? qcor should now be selling for at LEAST 15x earnings.
Someday in the not too distant future QCOR will break the back of the short's stranglehold and then it is Katy bar the door. If not, QCOR simply contnues buying back their own shares and that alone will do the trick.
    In for the LONG HAUL...

I'm thinking of wading in and buying some of the Jan 14 call options. I'd appreciate some knowledgeable opinions of what you think may be the best priced ones. Looks to me there are several still attractively priced?

    THanks in advance!

Mikey, ignore the crown. The investors who are serious value very highly your input. The way I look at it, 50% of peeps statistically 100 IQ, good % are on mind altering drugs, prescribed or illegal, and most who are normal are not successful due to faulty reasoning/logic.
So as Virgil said, "through chances various, through all vicissitudes, we make our way".

just wait until qcor steps in with their pre-authorized stock buy-backs. The impact of potential LARGE purchases should not be understated (especially with such large short positions).

as a great general once said...never take counsel of your fears. Time for reflection on the MINIMAL value of QCOR.
as some shorts have posited...present share price may be very dangerous(?) due to driving down the share price(again?) -
if that happens just BUY more. If it doesnt happen just enjoy the $$$. In the long run, as Keynes said, we are all dead. But in the short run we are all alive...bear raids/short sellers , when they are successful, merely provide another cheap buying opportunity.
So to the longer term investor, this is all noise anyway.
10x PE/extremely LOW PEG/tons of cash/paying a nice dividend which may be increasing/share buybacks/many "call" options at NO cost (ALS/migraines/'DN/ et al) and still selling ~ 50% BELOW 52 week high? At the present share price there is NO growth priced into QCOR shares...so shorts...
Shorts,...please attack....I am waiting in the wings to simply BUY more at these ridiculously LOW prices.
ps I am making 5% on my lowest cost lots now...sitting and waiting for the inevitable rise in share price feels pretty good

yes, yes, yes....all the above. qcor has options to smoke the shorts and buy-backs alone could do the trick. especially a massive buy-back.

serious upward push going on...(lets see if it lasts).
I suspect road show next week may have some positives, so this could be a very short term catalysts for the share price.

  • New Hope For People With Fatal Muscular Disease ALS?

The Israeli biotechnology company BrainStorm announced successful results in its clinical trial for a drug against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) – a fatal neurodegenerative disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The stem cell therapy with the drug NurOwn did not show significant side effects and the treatment has so far proven to be safe, the company said. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration last year granted orphan drug designation to NurOwn.

Patients in the trial are transplanted with stem cells derived from their own bone marrow and treated with the NurOwn stem cell technology.

The initial phase of the study is designed to establish the safety of NurOwn and will later be expanded to assess efficacy.

However, the patients in the trial have already shown positive results. Among the six first patients, four have shown signs of improvement and the other two have experienced stabilization, meaning their medical condition stopped deteriorating.

“Even though we are conducting a safety trial, the early clinical follow-up of the patients treated with the stem cells shows indications of beneficial clinical effects, such as an improvement in breathing and swallowing ability as well as in muscular power,” Dimitrios Karussis, head of Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center‘s Multiple Sclerosis unit, who is leading the clinical trial, said in a press release.

“Patients treated with the Company’s NurOwn therapeutic cells are expected to enjoy a rapid recovery and much enhanced quality of life. BrainStorm‘s therapy has the potential to cure underlying pathology, rather than simply treat symptoms,” the company says.

I have not traded qcor in months, even though it could have been very profitable to do so, for FEAR of missing a potential BIG move up.
Thinking LONGER term though, I also wonder if I could buy back in cheaper than some of my entry points. And I may not...so I just sit and way so far and collect the dividend.

I am looking forward to their upcoming road shows to see if perhaps they shed more light on the research/testing being done as well as sales. Also IF they have gotten the bugs worked out of what mgt claims were the cause of the Q1 fiasco.
