  • Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure met behind closed doors Monday morning with Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, but officials said cellphones were on the agenda and not the Miami soccer stadium Claure wants to secure for David Beckham.

Claure, one of Beckham’s financial partners in the soccer push, pitched Gimenez and top aides Monday on a Sprint initiative to beef up its network and retail presence in the Miami area, according to county officials and a Sprint presentation.

“I don’t know what you guys are here for, but it was not about soccer,” Deputy Mayor Jack Osterholt told reporters shortly after leaving the 7:30 a.m. meeting held at the county’s water department, which is near Gimenez’s home in the Coral Gables area. Claure told reporters when he arrived he planned to answer questions after the meeting, but took a different route when he left and did not speak to reporters.

MW, take it a step further, why couldn't SB buy some of Sprint's existing spectrum and lease it back to Sprint.....this is part of the whole TRAPPED VALUE issue with Sprint ....bashers love to discount the value of Sprint's 2.5GHz spectrum...and get tired of hearing about Bloomberg Intelligence's valuation of 86 to 115 Billion......but THAT value just needs to be to do to best capture that value......that IS the assured that Son is exploring all options......

...what people don't seem to get is that these are decisions with many variables and moving parts and that involve 10's of billion if not 100 Billion listen to idiots would think management should just say yee haw and wing it's just now how something like this works....the bashers here are utterly clueless....utterly......

Legere is also smart enough to realize that he doesn't want to make enemies for's enemy is often tomorrows friend and Son and Claure are likely to be around for awhile....more than likely sometime soon Legere will find one of them his boss ......

any time Claure might start feeling a little irritated with pink-party-boy...he probably just looks at his bank accounts and net worth.......

  • Twitter wars continue...Claure re-tweeted about Legere blocking someone who complained on twitter AND a T-Mobile phone screen capture of a T-Mobile failed call....what's funny about it is the FAILED CALL on T-Mobile's LTE network is the PHONE NUMBER ..... an 800 number to T-mobile's customer service......ouch......

..quick investing tip....don't take advice from anyone named "Ratcliff"

  • greekmonster101 by greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 6:36 PM Flag

    Number one rule of marketing.......

  • This is another instance of disingenuous junk-media, but in this instance there is no such thing as bad publicity..... and points to all Sprint is doing right...better network than T-Mobile, better pricing, more innovation.

It's truly laughable the junk-media these days......Legere goes on a gross profanity-laden tirade he's a new breed of CEO....Claure uses he word "BS" and some tech-rag-publication calls it a matter, the attention is what he should be him crazy, call it a meltdown, call it anything at all, just don't call him and Sprint "unnoticed".......what the competition REALLY objects to is that SPRINT is getting noticed.....

".......people are starting to realize, Legere has been feeding them a line of nonsense...uncarrier is a marketing campaign...and marketing campaigns have a shelf-life..... "

  • greekmonster101 by greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 5:01 PM Flag

....don't you think that Brightstar is re-vamping Radio Shack's supply and inventory management lines ....that this is one reason WHY Standard General wanted to do business with SB/Sprint.......Brightstar affords Sprint more SO many advantages....which is why SB bought them.....Brightstar can essentially subsidize Sprint in many ways......

Brightstar has REACH that people don't appreciate:

    January 16, 2013
"Mega-retailer Target announced it has ditched RadioShack in favor of Brightstar and MarketSource to manage and operate its Target Mobile in-store wireless shopping stations. The transition is expected to begin April 8. Brightstar, which is predominately known as a logistics provider to the wireless industry, will act as Target Mobile’s supply chain and point-of-activation technology provider, and MarketSource will be the in-store sales services partner. The Target Mobile store-within-a-store concept is currently run through 1,500 Target retail locations."

  • Smart...look...people have busy lives, most people have so much noise in their world it takes quite a bit for a factual marketing message to get across....smartest thing Claure can do is attract attention to the fact that Uncarrier is now just a big LIE...use expletives...take out a full page ad calling Legere a cheap pink-clad-Liar...anything....just get the truth out as to Sprint as the true innovator.......

  • greekmonster101 greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 4:33 PM Flag

I laugh daily at you bashers, if Sprint said gold bars started popping out of the ground at the Overland Park'd say we should worry about the landscaping ......the number of good news items at Sprint is building and learn....or just can the jive....most all of you simply want to buy

  • greekmonster101 greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 12:10 PM Flag

kf, parroting over and over again that something is bad...only just reinforces everyone's recognition that you are a mindless you actually have an argument to make...or do you just squawk

  • greekmonster101 greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 12:09 PM Flag

drs, yes, for all the reasons clearly stated, I think we've called you a seem VERY slow on the uptake

  • greekmonster101 greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 10:26 AM Flag

...and well Claure should take it to the next fact he should go as far as he possible can along this call out LIES for being LIES......

  • ...when bashers start bashing longs because they have an opinion on value....and using as their sole argument the fact that the market has not recognized that's really an admission from the basher that he doesn't understand markets .....

....most longs well accept a reasoned bear case...most bashers do nothing but cry using lies, innuendo and general spreading of fear uncertainly and's actually a really poor show.....shameful

  • British electrical goods and mobile phone retailer Dixons Carphone said its Connected World Services (CWS) division has signed a deal with Sprint Corp., the U.S. mobile network operator, to open and manage Sprint-branded stores in the U.S..

Dixons Carphone, formed last year from the merger of Dixons Retail and Carphone Warehouse, said the first phase of the deal will see CWS supply mobile phone retail expertise and proprietary knowledge to Sprint who will open about 20 retail stores.

If these stores prove successful, the deal would progress to a second phase which would involve CWS investing equally with Sprint in a joint venture to roll out up to 500 stores.

That second phase would see Dixons Carphone invest up to $32 million to obtain a 50 percent interest in the new venture.

  • greekmonster101 greekmonster101 Jul 2, 2015 9:51 AM Flag the end here's what who takes customers.....and that has everything to do with quality of network.......Sprint is improving, T-Mobile is fading ......
