  • Now let us see where we head from here. We have retraced just a tad over 50% of the up move from Aug. 26 to Aug. 28 and should either stabilize in here or resume moving up.

    EXIT STRATEGY AND ROLL-OUT

    by cabogordon Aug 31, 2015 12:27 PM

    cabo,
You make some extremely good points. I can see how, with your background in a startup, you came with this new angle regarding getting this company in shape for an acquisition. Your point about the current emphasis on data and building barriers to entry (instead of ramping up sales) is excellent PLUS we have some of those key new management appointments with past associations with Ilumina to consider. TROV would make a fabulous acquisition for ILMN (a drop in the bucket for them as far as cash outlay is concerned)

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • As you folks know, I have been long TROV for quite some time and am long the stock. I am convinced we will do well in the long run. In the meantime, I want to bring to your attention the only other stock I am currently long, CBLI. Please do your own DD, but there is something weird going on with the trading today and there is no news to support the move, but this stock has the potential for an explosive up move.

    Double bottom

    sons,
TROV got close to this price level on Aug. 12 and bounced up. I had been looking at the chart earlier on before I saw your post and I had been thinking that we could form a double bottom in here. Let us keep our fingers crossed, because the stock is ridiculously low at this point (market cap of $162 M is absurd). Some high-volume buying needs to come in here soon. The general market collapse is not helping right now.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

CBLI is my only green biotech today

    cats,
CBLI has been acting like a real champ, once again, in the general stock market debacle of the last two days. The only problem is that the volume has been low. Otherwise, I would say there is some positive impetus behind this move. An alternative explanation is that some buyers are using the general market weakness to accumulate for the long term. I sure wish more CBLI longs with your kind of familiarity with the company would participate on this board.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Just bought TROV Jan. $5 calls

    minn,
You are quite observant; this is carefully-planned accumulation that is intended to hold down the price while one or more big guns accumulate (at least this is what I think is happening). Next month or two should show us what outfits were accumulating.

On a different track, I carefully examined the bios of the TROV management and was very impressed. The new appointments have brought in some heavy hitters. We are in excellent hands. Plus the ILMN connection is most encouraging. TROV could easily be a buy-out target.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

I would like to remind fellow TROV longs of my post on Aug. 12 when the stock was trading at $5.3. I noted the trading action (and I meant the way larger buys would come in and kick up the price 2 to 3 cents, followed immediately by a 2-3 cent drop on just a few hundred shares). On the basis of this observation, I concluded that there was very significant accumulation in the works and I loaded up on the stock plus as many of the Jan. $5 calls as I could afford. This kind of action was confirmed once more today in the last 5 minutes of trading showing very significant accumulation. GL longs.

Battle royale taking place between $6.2 and $6.28 with large blocks coming in on buy and sell sides; although the volume on buy side is greater. Interesting to see how this gets resolved.

    From Aug. 12 CC

    by green_bar_spike Aug 12, 2015 4:55 PM

I am thinking they possibly may have been anticipating getting some kind of news on the contract before 8/12, but it did not happen. This may explain the delay in the CC plus their somewhat tight-lipped behavior during the CC. Also, the trading action prior to 8/12 seemed to indicate accumulation. Putting these two together, I wonder if we might be getting some news soon, anyway.

Any ideas about price IF a DOD contract is awarded?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

I just read the CC and the most important nugget I extracted from it is the following quote:

"We have already started reaching out to select foreign countries in order to educate and update them on Entolimod's advanced development status and our progress with the FDA. In a separate, parallel initiative, we continue our negotiations with the Department of Defense regarding two proposal supporting additional studies in animals and in humans."

    lee,
I bought the calls because I have been watching the trading action and felt it was grotesquely oversold and presented a terrific opportunity to load up. In fact, again today in a separate post, I wrote that TROV was overdue for a pop when a lot of longs (including those whose opinion I respect) were talking about support at $5 and TROV possibly taking a few months or a couple of years to recover. Well, I made my comments about the bounce when TROV was trading at $5.3 and appeared to be heading much lower. So, I don't blame even the most steadfast longs at being dismayed. But, when the investment crowd rushes unthinkingly in one direction, it is time to go the other way.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • green_bar_spike green_bar_spike Aug 12, 2015 1:45 PM Flag

Just for the record, I forgot to insert the date and the price of TROV when I made my preceding comment about "a very nice bounce is close at hand." I made the comment Aug. 12, 2015 when the stock was trading at $5.3.

Something big in the works at CLBS

    by green_bar_spike Aug 11, 2015 3:42 PM
    green_bar_spike green_bar_spike Aug 12, 2015 12:16 PM Flag

    jr,
I did not make my statement about "something big brewing" on account of the CFO stock purchase. Instead, I made the statement based on the trading action in CLBS. My comment is being justified today with our stock up when the rest of the biotechs are being decimated. I hardly think the price action upward we have experienced in the last 2 days can be explained because the CFO bought about $100,000 worth of stock -- that is peanuts. Time will tell.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • green_bar_spike green_bar_spike Aug 12, 2015 11:39 AM Flag

    mgm,
Great summary to provide perspective on this little gem of a biotech. As others have pointed out, when we were at this low price before, the company had far less to show for it. Just goes to show that the market correction plus the decimation of biotechs has carried this way too far below what it is worth.

Some longs are suggesting that it may require months or a year or two for TROV to recover from these lows. I do not agree and feel that the technical situation is grotesquely oversold and a very nice bounce is close at hand. Markets (investors) behave like herds and go to extremes. We are probably near a bottom right in here. When this turns around, a great many investors who are aware of the company and who have been sitting on the sidelines will want to jump in and participate in the upmove.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Volume was actually quite high when you compare with the volume in the last few days. The trading action, as I have commented in my past couple of posts, is very encouraging. Tomorrow will be an interesting day. I bought a bunch more today. This is my only biotech stock with a possible spectacular move in the near future; it held up tremendously well (no sellers to speak of) while ALL my other biotechs were getting decimated.

It is too bad that this board is so quiet; I wish we had some well-informed participants. We have a most unusual opportunity here and there appears to be minuscule interest in the stock. Well, let us hope things start picking up. GLTA longs.
