  • The last 15 minutes of trading saw very substantial volume coming into MNKD as the stock made a very good recovery from $9.17 to $9.29. This was obviously buying.

Prescriptions of ColoGuard will emanate from the offices of general practitioners and internists. These people do not have a vested interest in colonoscopy. Specialists who perform the latter or who recommend it will mostly be bypassed. Additionally, once patients become aware of the ColoGuard alternative, most will demand it as a first resort. Potential market estimates and revenues need to be adjusted accordingly.

Good job, kavin, and thanks for doing this legwork for the rest of us. It has been amply clear to me that the near-complete silence from MNKD has been legally imposed. They know they have a deal in the works or pending and are absolutely forbidden to make any public remarks whatsoever about it.

I cannot understand posters here who are repeatedly complaining about lack of announcements. The silence actually speaks very loud and clear: Announcement of a very important agreement is imminent. Just be patient. My hope is that the announcement will be so positive and dramatic that we will not have another repeat of the post FDA approval fiasco engineered by the shorts.

Great points. I too have had my share of experiences with "top notch specialists" at a major university who resorted to (and suggested future) almost sadistic procedures near and dear to their hearts & wallets. I resolved my problems on my own without any additional intervention by such physicians.
The point here is that physicians can be motivated by (a) their old habits of practice, (b) sheer laziness, or (c) financial gain. But, once the public gets generally educated about new, easy, and inexpensive alternatives in medical care, they are bound to demand it and seek specialists who will provide it. Nevertheless, some sheep-like patients are still going to be influenced by their older medical practitioners.
Finally, and most importantly, in the case of ColoGuard, the medical practitioners who will be recommending it are GPs and internists. These people do not have a vested interest in using colonoscopies. In fact, due to pressures from insurers, they will rather rapidly begin recommending ColoGuard to their patients. Additionally, Medicare may change the patient financial burden of colonoscopy procedures in ways as to encourage the ColoGuard alternative.

IPCI has been a HUGE disappointment to its investors. There is quite possibly major dilution on the way. I would be a buyer somewhere around $1.5

    EXAS calls traded July 14

Your second alternative makes a lot of sense. Apparently, someone bought back the July $14 calls they were short and sold the $15 October calls for about the same price. So, unfortunately, we cannot build a bull case on this trade. Thanks.

I see that 1000 July $14 calls traded today plus 800 Oct. $15 calls traded. Does anyone see significance in these two trades and what they might mean?

For some reason, most of the recent posts on this MNKD board are based on the assumption that it is going to be a partnership and not a buyout. I have posted previously that, based on Alfred Mann's age and the 10 years he already has devoted to this project, the temptation may weigh heavily to hand over Afrezza to some other company and let them proceed with it. A partnership, on the other hand, would entail a long drawn-out process of bringing this product to market and I am not sure Mr. Mann, at this point, has the energy or physical resources to deal with it. I say this while emphasizing my deepest respect for his persistence and accomplishments.

So, my question to the board is: What is the basis, briefly, for posters assuming it is going to be a partnership?

This Is A Buyout Not A Partenership

I'll have to agree with you. Just put yourself in the shoes of Alfred Mann who already has devoted 10 years of his life to develop Afrezza, not to mention all the anxiety and hardship created for him due to FDA roadblocks in the process. Would you not be emotionally and physically exhausted if you were in his place?

At his age, I would say, very most likely, he is in fact tired of the struggle. In addition, as you put it, going to market on his own or with a partner is going to take at least a couple of more years out of the remaining years of his life. I would have to conclude that there is a very high probability (0.85 to 0.9) that he will sell the company and get it over with. He already has achieved a very major milestone in his life and with Afrezza; he is not going to want to set up yet another goal looking out 2-3 years. Enough is enough; he'll want to take it easy and enjoy himself and his family. And, we cannot blame him for that.

    ajetjock,
Excellent points. Also, panic selling that culminated at $2.8 occurred on low volume trades. Take a close look at the minute by minute chart and you will see two large buys just above $2.8 (one for 60K shares, another for 40K shares). In fact, most of the larger buys on my chart are green (not red). These buyers have conviction and guts. They are not buying for short-term, as this stock is very difficult to trade because of its low volume and large bid to ask spreads.

IPCI now is free of the indecisive weak hands and the float is mostly being held in strong hands; there are VERY FEW willing sellers left at this point. Any kind of good news from management at this juncture should catapult the stock much higher. JMHO

    ms.wardcleaver,

I am sorry to see you sell this stock and turn negative on the company. You have been a positive and constructive influence on this MB for a long time and I know it hurts to have to walk away at this juncture. However, for those of us holding on, the income from Focalin of $1.5 M is not representative of what is to come down the pike. For one thing, April, May, and June sales income from Par are most probably not reflected in the 2Q May 31 report from IPCI. Additionally, as you very well know, there are multiple ANDAs in the works and approvals could come any day (with 3 of the ANDAs having been submitted about 4 years ago). Finally, we have the Odidis running this company with a lot of their own money tied up in it.

Once again, I am very sorry for the disappointment and your departure. Best wishes.

We did pull back to the top of the channel today and bounced right back up. Now, if my analysis is correct, SNTA should be heading north from here in the next 2-4 weeks, provided the overall market does not collapse. JMHO

Agree with you wholeheartedly. I also made a large purchase before I read your post a few minutes ago.

In this awful biotech route, I see MNKD as one of the few safer bets, excluding of course some of the big boys like CELG.

Synta has been trading in a narrow channel ranging from about $4 to $4.5 since April 2014. In the last 2 trading days, it has broken out of that channel on very convincing volume (approximately 2.5 to 3 times average daily volume). This chart pattern speaks loud and clear that something big is on the way. We may see a pullback to the top of the channel briefly, but this chart pattern is a CLASSIC and it tells me this stock is headed much higher.

You would be hard put to find a highly promising chart pattern along with a bargain-priced stock in the current biotech market where many of the stocks I follow have doubled and tripled. SNTA is just at the start of a major move. This is just my opinion, please do your own DD.

Thank you for contacting Yahoo customer support about this serious problem. It amazes me that Yahoo allows a single individual to pollute a board in this horrible way. Hope you get some constructive action out of Yahoo.
