Take your BMI profits and move it into PLPC.
Plpc earned 58 cents last quarter - BMI earned 55 cents
PLPC pays over a 2 percent dividend - BMI %1.20
Plpc little debt and cash on the balance sheet. BMI good amount of debt on the balance sheet
PLPC selling below book - BMI 5 times book
PLPC a play on the grid- BMI a play on water - both good infrastructure plays
As you can see as much as BMi is a good company its just plain overvalued while PLPC is undervalued and getting no love.
MY 2cents - I just figured i would spell out what is good value is in this overvalued market in some areas.
A downgrade on a new high. I think some of the analysts are finally figuring it out their job is to downgrade not on 52 week lows but at 52 week highs. Congratulations to the analyst for realizing that BMI is over valued at these prices.
Overpriced based on the pe, but maybe thats the new normal, setting up for the next nasty down turn. Now if the stock was around 35 maybe you could be a little excited with the earnings, but at 70 it would be a great time to take your profits and run. my guess you'll be able to get the stock at amuch lower valuation somewhere down the road. Utulities are selling in the strosphere, but as long as people are getting their 2 percent dividends, PEs don't matter, in fact, debt doesn't matter much either until it matters, And what's ironic looking at the VXX there not an ounce of fear in the market, but maybe the good times are back and the great utopia could be right around the corner if a democrat is elected.
Wow, a apple designer is going to turn around the company. It amazing what people will grab on to. The only guy making out here is the guy from apple. Jc penney is still wonder what happen to all the majic from the guy they hired from apple. It was Steve Jobs that made Apple great and now Apple is average at best.
Now not so much. In fact, i'm not quite sure why they even pay analysts today to put buy ratings on stocks or sells for that matter, nobody listens
Have you ever watched Seinfeld. Did you ever see the episode where George realizes whatever he's thinking he should do the opposite. Everything works out great when he starts doing the opposite of what he thinks. Maybe you should give it a whirl.
They spent 300 million for that acquisition, Basically over 3 times sales. In the NEXT down term they could have bot alliance for 10 bucks a share. Why the rush. The company isn't even going to effect the bot line probably ever. it will probably hurt earnings. Great job management, keep making those great acquisition. Hey, I got some great swamp land in Florida, I'm looking for buyer.
Even if everything plays out exactly as you say, stocks like Calm, like utilities, do well in a no growth environment. Utility companies PEs continue to expand with no improvement in earnings and the dividends get smaller , yet the money continues to flow into the sector. Just look at all the food companies there PEs are at ridicules levels with no regard to fundamentals, yet CALM sells still at a reasonable price compared to other food companies. Sometimes its the sector thats in favor that trumps reality.
A nice order today. I think this could be a nice opportunity for more orders down the road from other health inistuitions if their product meets or exceeds expectations.
A lot of short timers came on board when the bird flu hit the airways. The long term trend is up just based on population trends. Now, with that said, there are always great entry points in calm based on egg prices. It seems to be an easy stock to short when you think egg prices are declining but that hasn't work out too well for people on the short side and maybe they like paying out dividends as well.
I don't own a position now. i'm just waiting for a better entry point, but it's been a great investment over the years for a stock that is basically considered a commodity. So they must be doing something right keeping the assets growing year after year.
Don't waste your time picking up this stock. Mangement just paid more than 4 times sales for another company - what a joke. maybe thats why the stock basically does nothing year after year.
Wow, A samller I-phone - Brilliant.
Jobs was the creative guy - I'm not sure what Cook did. Eventually Cook will be gone. I give him no more than a year.
