  • biotechs got pounded in general yesterday. i did see news from abiomed on approval of left or right {cant remember} assist heart pump {impella} approval. maybe that is a reason -perceived competition for bellapharon ...who knows...

well, I got hit hard in the 2000 crash. I felt it coming but I called my accountant two weeks before the collapse started. When I found out how much tax I had to pay I decided to take a 20-30% hit and ride it out. I was in it for "long term". Unfortunately I did not realize the junk I was holding and my portfolio got clobbered. Before the 2008 crash I had some twisted luck where I got sick and decided to liquidate cause I thought I was gonna pass on to next life... I'm still here - and that queasy feeling I had before 2000 crash is manifesting itself. If you have long term horizon, you'll be okay. The market could be down for number of years so it will take time to recover. Spec stocks will not be spared. In the long term we're all dead. But as long as you are in a position to wait it out and don't need the money PSDV should ultimately be okay........IMHO

forget about PSDV - this market looks sick. looks to me like we're heading for a crash. market action is terrible. IMO, if you want to stay in the market, make sure your holdings have plenty of cash on hand to outlast the bear - - - bull markets cannot last forever and we rarely see the crash coming before it happens....

I'm not a trader, I'm an investor - but I guess that what you are describing would happen if the buyers put limit orders in that are below the sellers' price so that the sellers have to drop their price to meet the bid. Buyers looking for cheap shares to turn around and sell higher...all active trading that I personally have no time to bother with. I prefer to buy and sell on real news. We haven't had anything substantial from PSDV lately - but I expect that when we do this stock will finally move out of its trading range, hopefully a lot higher...

i read it -nice find. It says Dr Hodgkiss invents novel drug delivery system. He is paired with PSDV. Why is he the inventor? If he had something to do with this particular insert, it should say co-inventor. Since they are working together. Anyhow - this can be traced back to Aug 16, 2011 tech eval agreement PSDV announced with HHS to investigate bioerodable sustained release system in orthopedic surgery....i guess they have been working on this for a long time. For technologies of interest in this area -check out FLXN - i have investment in this company also......

i agree -failure and all they got left is their recent acquisition candidate. if 109 fails, maybe they can entice second tier pharma/bio with a small trial in opthal space. all the while more dilution. best reason for me to hold is i already lost most of my money. too bad they don't issue stock vertificates any more -i could use them to paper my walls - maybe the small 1/2 bath........

follow the money. when the big boys move in to scoop up distressed energy assets on the cheap -that is the signal i am waiting for. unless, of course, saudis change course. their mission is to force shale producers into bankrupty. they want consolidation to regain control over prices. as long as they keep pumping i'm on the sidelines. there is change of leadership in saudi arabia though with death of their king -lets see if they continue same policy/strategy......

    Starboard getting desperate

that's why i sold close to $18 - too risky to hold. the stock was priced for a merger. if it does not happen, it will continue to readjust downward. personally, i don't understand why SPLS mgmt does not want to try? They may get rejected by FTC. So what. Their excuse is ODP has indigestion. Well, if SPLS mgmt is good they will fix it and reap the rewards. I guess i understand on some level the attitude that what is the rush. On the other hand, competition does not stand still. I'm with Starboard on this one. i think ultimately they will prevail. so i'm watching and if spls stock gets cheap enough - I'm will buy again....

it's hilarious - the courts arguing up to the point where the patent will expire on its own - great judicial process....what a waste of friggin lawyers did their job on this the end though, the final patent will expire -in at this point the stock hardly reacted to the news....

  • 106 bottles of beer on the wall, 106 bottles of beer..............i'm afraid if the ceo speaks out again we may be on the pink sheets next.........this is fun, isn't it? i just love losing all my money..... by the way, somehow i have this sinking feeling that the last shoe is gonna drop and all those financial malpractice lawyers will come calling with their lawsuits - good luck to whats left of us shareholders...

it's actually a smart thing to do, to take advantage of the high stock price. ph III trials cost big $$$. the money will be put to good use with reasonably small dilution due to elevated share price. alny would not be the first company to do this. in a healthy market I've seen where the stock actually rallies after a few days of digesting the news as people come to understand that the company is in better position and got good deal. this market is on shaky ground - I hope it's carried out "before" the market tanks...

I'm not a fan of Zacks esp when it comes to valuing / rating biotechs - but it is good from the standpoint that it will bring some more attention to this small company.....that can't hurt...

this board is pretty mean when it comes to any dissenting opinion. i agree with your second and third paragraphs. As for your first comment on the hospitals giving it a shot - the insurance companies or patients have to be willing to pay for it. i think the stock is fairly priced at this point -it is generating increasing revenues, but will need approvals from clinical testing to really explode higher. and that will take money -hence the cash raise. my guess is the company will show success in the clinic - it will take some time though for all the testing that needs to be done. for those willing to wait -this is not a bad entry point. if the stock market itself cracks -and there are signs -there may be an even better entry point approaching.....spec stocks don't do particularly well in a bear market ...glta

Why is RXI a STRONG BUY?

the best reason for continuing to hold the stock at this point is that for a lot of investors, like myself, we've lost most of our money and there is little left to lose. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. i'm happy with the performance of most of my other biotechs -this one "appears" to be a lemon. But at this low point it does not make much sense to sell... and the fat lady hasn't sung yet - they haven't had a drug "failure". no obvious success but no clear failure.......

  • A share of RXII stock or a snack from the company vending machine? HMMM It's a tough call.....ehhh...I think I'm gonna go for the snickers bar or maybe some twizzlers......

  • at least until it officially declares bankruptcy....I always like to think on the positive side of things .. it would be nice if they could put the company up for sale -but they need to have something of value to sell and right now they have no proof anything they are doing works......again, on positive side of things, -the price is so low now that there is little left to lose......

thank you - I found it. from what I can see a PH III RXI -109 large study initiation is targeted for 2018. That is a long ways off. That's my guess as to why stock is falling. It's a long, long wait. I'm sure other stuff will go on in the mean time, including more dilution. Companies can have good science/technology but if the market cap isn't high enough dilution becomes extremely costly. Best for shareholders if they can find a buyer. They most likely won't sell because they can keep diluting as long as someone like LPC is willing to loan them money. Ultimately, the shareholders will not make out. getting close to throwing in towel on this one..

i can see why they would want to purchase -it has built out a nice pipeline, with some candidates having significant market potential. I expect additional partnership news throughout 2015, more clinical news/progress, and continued build out of their pipeline. Some of their drugs in development have yet to be partnered. Also, NVS partnership call for co-develop of drug candidates. This should get interesting...GLTA
