Try it yourself. Find any gun nuts and chances are their daughter has an IQ lower the 75(apple does not fall far from the tree after all). by eastofeastside •Feb 17, 2013 12:32 PMVery good point. Did not really think about the people owning 2-3 last gen maybe only going for 1-2 this time. Very well might be the case. Still I think the pie will be cut more like the 6th gen with one (ps2 then) running away from the others then like the 7th gen when it was kinda equal. I doubt the WiiU has any chance at this point. So its either Xbox or PS IMO. Need to see what MSFT has to offer. (april is the rumor).

by eastofeastside •Feb 17, 2013 12:32 PMNo that was in replying to "dying console industry" not money or profit. Just console hardware. With PS3 at 75 million console sales, 360 at 75 million sales and wii nearing 100 million thats 1/4 billion consoles last gen sold. The thoughts of some are that with mobile gaming and phones and such that the next gen WiiU, PS4 and xbox720 are all doomed to fail. While mobile will cut into the overall gaming pie I still really believe home consoles have a huge place going forward. Just think that consoles hardware pie is going to look very different than last gen that was basically even.

The WiiU is DOA. So that leaves SNE and MSFT to cut that pie right now. Talks of steam box and that other thing could complicate it.

Wii in its 3rd month was over 425,000 if I remember right. Wii U around 55,000 to compare. These are not just bad this is deathbed bad. If its continues and even gets worse they wont come close to meeting their already much lowered 4 million sold for the March ending month. At this pace it wont sell a million units in 2013. Just posting the news once again.

"While the NPD no longer provides specific sales numbers for hardware, a representative does tell us that sales of the Wii U hardware for its first three months on the market are down 38 percent from what the Wii's numbers were at that same point.
We're told by someone with access to the NPD's data that sales for January were "well under" 100,000 units. By our estimates, sales were somewhere between 45,000 and 59,000 units for the month, which is lower than any of the three previous-generation home consoles sold in their worst months, with the possible exception of a recent performance by the original Wii.
Similarly, we don't know any software sales numbers, but from NPD's report we can see where Wii U SKUs of multiplatform games compare to other SKUs, and it doesn't look good.
In instances where a game exists on both the Wii and the Wii U (Just Dance 4, NBA 2K13, Madden NFL 13, Skylanders Giants and FIFA Soccer 13), the Wii version came out on top every time. In Madden's case, it was even outsold by the portable version for Sony's ailing Vita handheld."

I use online forums such as neogaf and gamespot to see what gamers are talking about. Unlike yahoo these are gamers talking to other gamers and not investors. The problem with SA is that while they do have good info at times that info is hours, days, weeks or months behind the time. Gamer forums are real time info to judge what are getting the gamers (you know those that actually buy the products) excited. Go on any game forum and look back to just before the Wii U launch and you will see a lot of negative publicity on it. That was BEFORE the stock took a nosedive. VG stocks are unique in this aspect because we dont need to wait for the seeking alpha articles to tell us what we might have known for a long time. Spending a few minutes a day seeing what is going on got me into AMD that was up another 3% today. I would have never put money into a company like AMD (and im not suggesting anyone do) had I not thought I was months ahead of investors by simply getting my nerd on reading video game sites when I rarely play games myself. I dont have a clue what a pokemon is but I sure as heck know that pokemon X Y is coming to 3DS. Why? As a VG trader I think I need to know these things. Hugely hyped games like this can move a stocks price. Good luck with your trades.
