what about if ERIC's loss in sales in the the US was NOK/ALU's gain? Now that would be a nice shocker.
Someone is trying to make people nervous and sell their shares on the cheap. Good idea to buy more if you can. After LG Display's positive outlook should be smooth sailing for GLW come earnings time and beyond.
Agreed. We have seen it with others like AAPL. People getting back into oil and Energy stocks as they have the most upside. When that plays out the institutions will be back. Patience.
SA short sighted to be selling oil so cheaply. On a comparative basis, oil is much cheaper than bottled water. We will be using oil for many years to come so they are better just keeping it in the ground. At this rate they will be using all their oil up before the US who are now leaving it in the ground. SA knows this and will take they foot of the production pedal in June which isn't that far off.
I disagree. Like many other successful companies we know today, these guys were ahead of their time and the OEM's and the economy weren't ready for them yet. We now have undeniable pollution issues globally from petrol and diesel engines and nations are now taking steps to reduce their reliance on these type of hydro carbons (coal). NGV's will be good bridge to electric technology but that is a long way off from an industrial transport perspective. India and China who don't have much of a pre-existing gas and diesel infrastructure are really well placed to take advantage of NGV.'s This Company has finally come of age and the future looks very good. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Nice idea but not going to happen. anyhow, I think it will be very successful on its own with new OLED partnership and other things going on. Pollution and issue and expect to see them selling more product into China, India and US t curb tailpipe pollution from diesel trucks. Day of glass slowly becoming a reality and other more day to day application of Willow and Gorilla glass. Should have a very good 1st Q and will add more cash to the Balance Sheet which may spur increased dividend, buyback or both. Nice, secure stock getting stronger every Q. Future looks very bright indeed.
So under proposed plan if you hold until deal consummation you will get roughly $4.50 equivalent for ALU stock. You could sell today and get less and never have opportunity for higher price or you can hold on with limited downside to $4.50 but with opportunity to possibly get more if other bids emerge. as no brainer for dictating today's action. If you have money in the bank then buy some more as you are a guaranteed a profit at these prices.
Also Cisco losing sales in China as US company and China doesn't trust them. Worst thing ALU could do is get acquired by US company unless they want to stop selling into China which would be suicidal.
They both are already. Deal would only change Iran sales to West and Japan. Moot topic as deal ain't going to happen as sides poles apart and similar to NK, Iran is just dragging this out to make even more fissile material. Even if deal were to happen, SA and/or Israel will bomb Iran. Oil only going up.
Agree that OK likely cheapest for all reasons mentioned but it is not a zero sum game and other states will over time get more competitive as they build out their NG fueling infrastructure. Trend is moving in the right direction.
As should be the case for many other states as well including TX, PA, CO, NM, LA and Chicago which is a major transit point for US and Canadian natural gas. Slowly but surely.
They already have. They would have been better keeping the stuff in the ground. We will be using oil for many years to come and will only get more expensive over time.
Bear Head project not likely to be shipping until 2018 which is a long way off. With that time line one needs to start factoring in the finite nature of oil and gas in a time when demand will begin to grow faster. Climate change and global pollution levels will have pushed coal out of business to be replaced by nuclear and NG. Long term future of the project look very good indeed. Bear Head quite a bit closer to Europe than others parts of NA planned LNG export terminals so they have that over their competition as well as cheaper product in CDN$ terms.
All, the reality is that this stock should have done much better sooner but unfortunately elements outside CLNE management's control or wildest dreams came to fruition - i.e use of NG for truck seems a completely rationale idea but pork and a very divided Congress got in the way. Then more recently the drop in crude prices. All have made it very difficult for CLNE to make any headway. But I really do think we are now ready to move to the next level. Diesel has not dropped as much as anticipated, NG engines are getting cheaper and most importantly there is a growing appreciation n the US and globally that use of NGV will help great deal in tackling deadly pollution levels. In the US, NGV are such an obvious solution having so much home grown NG. Blue skies ahead so enjoy the ride!
Creates another buying opportunity. Next time these guys report they will recognize all revenues from acquired companies and will have reduced the parts of the company that are a drag on profits. The future looks very good as AA becomes a specialty materials/manufacturing company adding much more value than smelting operations. Klaus has a very good plan in place.
